🌴We're heading into the first weekend of our new exhibition MY GENERATION. THE JABLONKA COLLECTION with a masterpiece by #PhilipTaaffe! His ARTIFICIAL PARADISE takes you directly into an artistic jungle! 🌴 🎨For years the artist Philip Taaffe has been continuously growing his organic image worlds. He does not go out into nature himself in order to find the motifs on location, but instead enters his in-house library, which is full of book rarities and botanical publications of the 19th century 📖. He searches the books for exciting forms and motifs that are suitable for his works of art. ✂️With the help of reproductions, he makes cardboard stencils, silkscreens or relief prints. Taaffe also uses plant forms for his paintings, which he creates from photographs of plants he has found and pressed himself for his art. 🖼 The final works of art are created by combining the various elements and applying translucent colors. His pictures are not concrete representations but rather pictorial fictions that are open to interpretation. 🎉Philip Taaffe's ARTIFICIAL PARADISE is one of his most famous works. Discover it at our new exhibition MY GENERATION at the ALBERTINA! . . . Philip Taaffe / Artificial Paradise (Tumulus) / 2008 / The ALBERTINA Museum, Vienna – The JABLONKA Collection / © Philip Taaffe
