I traveled to Masouleh 3 times and this is is my favorite shop. The shop owner looks lonely all the time. I’ve never talked to him but I appreciate his creation of beauty. I didn’t expect to encounter such an eye-catching shop in a village where foreigners rarely visit. #mobileshot
Invited by nomads to their home (a temporary tent🏕 ) for drinks. Travelers like describing themselves as “nomads”, but few of them know about the real pastoral nomadic life. In such annual or seasonal migration, nomads move from their winter resort locations to summer grazing lands with their animals and move back to their winter resort locations again when it gets cold. I kept asking if they yearn for city life and was told that they are very used to this nomadic lifestyle.
Esfahan has my love 💕
Being named after Aqa Seyyed shrine, this village is known for its unusual architecture. Its interconnected buildings are built into the surrounding mountain. The roofs of the buildings serve as courtyards and streets of the buildings above. Most of the homes have no windows and only one door. And yes one thing for sure, everyone is friendly here and welcomes me for tea. The village is probably the most difficult destination for me to reach in Iran due to the long distance and road conditions. If you are into exploring it, please contact Sajad @zaska_adventure and Amin @amin.nasrii , they will be the best persons to show you around.
Esfahan is a city I’ll never get bored of. 21 days ain’t enough to dig out the details of Iran’s beauty
I traveled to the small village Barzok spontaneously. In the village, I took a tour to see the real Iranian customs and culture, like how they make bread and how they create the handmade carpets. Different from the other classic tours in Iran, this one gives me an authentic perspective to look into Iranian villagers’ life. Also I’m very surprised that people know how to respect even they haven’t taken any education. For example, the lady in this picture is Laila, she is single and lives alone. Almost all the tools/furnitures/facilities in her house are from her grandma’s grandma. In all her life she had only gone to school for 4 years but she behaved like a person with full education. She smiled, she joked, she gave me so much fruits and kept asking me to eat eat eat. She warms my heart just like every other Iranian does. If you are interested in taking this tour to see how Iranian villagers live and to see the wildlife (wild deer etc.) in Barzok, please feel free to contact tour guide Saeed @saeedsoroosh or ring/msg him on +989104621576
It’s very, very, very easy to fall in love with Iran.
Abyaneh, a 2,500-year-old village that I’ve been longing to visit since I traveled to Iran for the first time. And in this 3rd visit to Iran, finally I made my way to see Abyaneh. Apart from the history, Abyaneh is valued for its preserved culture and beautiful scenery. And of course, the most lovely part is those villagers. After taking this photo, I walked in darkness with fear, but some villagers walked pass, they said hi and bye to me. That powers me.
won a writing competition and get sponsored to Iran, so here I am again
The photo might look cute but the photo place isn’t. It’s taken at @icebergsclub where my friends @simson.zhao_ and @gavinsama politely asked a staff to recommend some signature drinks, to our surprise that the staff simply ignored us and walked away. My friends asked again gently and patiently when he came around, he then pointed at one drink on the menu unconcernedly, in the meanwhile he told us “make sure you don’t take thousand photos of it”. Did he think being Asian means being crazy about photos? We didn’t even take a photo at that time. And when he served us drinks, he emphasized “this is not a photo place”. I can even read racism on his face and wow we paid for getting language abused. I migrated to Australia since 2016 and I’m always amazed by how well-trained the hospitality service is in this beautiful country. Also, I’ve eaten at Ice Berg more than 10 times but I never expected to meet this rudest and most unprofessional guy. If I have to think of something positive, hmm I finally get stories to tell when being asked about “the most disgraceful experience”.
