Hop into an abundant rabbit new year with the reunion feast from @neogardencatering. This CNY bundle that we had was totally awesome yet came with minor surprises for my family and guests! First, the Szechuan Sliced Fish with Pickled Mustard was served in a auspicious looking pot. The taste was not overly strong or spicy yet it retained the goodness of the Szechuan pickles! Zash enjoyed the Hakka Abacus Seeds which came in different colours and also the Rainbow Fruits Yu Sheng because it contained his favourite fruits like strawberries and pineapples. As for me, I enjoyed making my own Chicken Katsu Mantou and I like the crispy chicken katsu and soft mantou combination. Strong family ties are the keys to a happy family! As working parents, we needed the help of Zash's grandparents, aunts and uncles to look after Zash if we are busy with work. My wife and I had been occupied with work for the past month and felt a bit of “parents’ guilt” for not being able to spend as much time with Zash. We are grateful for the strong family support from Zash’s grandmother, uncles and aunties. During one of those weekends that my wife and I had to work, they brought Zash for a trip to the Zoo so that we could focus on our work. The extended family trip also allowed Zash to bond with his extended family and learn to be a more resilient and independent boy. His interactions with his cousins also allow him to be more caring, willing to share and be sensitive to the needs of others! In Singapore, we are very fortunate most of us have our family near us to help in our parenting journey. Our government too, has been supportive in offering various platforms and subsidies to assist parents like myself.
