Serving platter ➡️ floral night light 🌸 @makeitwithmicah This DIY project has been in my mind for months, and I finally did it. 😅 It actually functions better than expected, and Sophia loves it 💗 The platter and gems are from the Dollar Tree and the light is from @fivebelow. I stuck the light to the wall first then hung the platter on top. I glued a loop using rope on the back of the platter for easy hanging. The spray paint is called “Sweet Pea” by @rustoleum. It’s the simple things 🍓 . . A morning looking for juicy, ripe,red,strawberries. Oh and of course we had to taste test them. Every thing is getting so commercialised in this day and age the simple things are forgotten. We visited a lovely fruit farm at Hutton bonville today and it’s just perfect. Fields of fruits and listening to the birds sing their morning song absolutely perfect as we picked our strawberries. We weighed them in and headed home. The following paragraph is from a blog post I wrote a couple years ago. I reflect on it often, thankful God answered my prayers beyond my wildest dreams. We’re here, just a plot of land down from where I grew up and I still have a slight feeling I may be dreaming. • I was homeschooled the majority of my elementary years through junior high. I grew up a small mountain town in CA. My parents built our home on 14 rural acres at the end of a long dirt road. It was truly a freedom filled childhood. There were many days spent climbing boulders and trees, digging in the mud, and hiking much too far from the safety of our home. As my mom likes to say, we always had our trusty dog Duke by our side who paved the trails and warded of all the rattlers and mountain lions. All these experiences threaded themselves into the fabric of my being. Thoughts of my childhood spurred truths and hi-lighted big-picture ideas. I realized by all my considerations, what I truly wanted for my children was something close to the life my parents gave me.
