Which wolf will we feed today? They both look alike; both of them live inside us and we “feel” them as part of our self. But one of them is the habit of negativity: “fear, anger, resentment, self-deprecation, inability to forgive...” The other is: “forgiveness, generosity, optimism, humility, confidence, loving compassion...” Tools: 1) Inner reflection helps us to discriminate. 2) Spiritual practice, said our teacher Sally Kempton, gives us the power to feed the wolf of inner strength & real truth. Let us be determined to look deeply and to practice feeding the wolf that is our real ally, the one who promotes happiness and inner peace.

We can start treating ourselves as “the Beloved” and the more we feel loved, the more we relax and become happier, and are able to feel this love for our partner. So much so that instead of demanding more love, we start offering more love. Even though we can all feel that Sally’s awareness, the essence of her being may still be with us, still that empty spot in the circle around the lake Manosovar, the lake of consciousness, is huge… and through the day it is often unbearable to look straight at that huge emptiness our teacher left behind. Did she die alone? She was too proud, too private to allow us to step into her life and try to take care of her. Goddess knows, I offered. I got as far as having lunch in Carmel last winter when I was in the States. She indicated the end was near; I protested. A year or two was her reply! Processing it all now will take time and maybe few of us can do it alone. What do you say dear sangham? Shall we go at it together? We can devise a way to stay connected and to talk. She would want us to continue, to go on. She left us so many tools, as if secretly preparing us to go on without her… She was preparing for this, could you tell? She was giving us EVERYTHING, all her insight and knowledge and love!!! Sadness, pain, gratitude, awe, and a profound sense of love fill the huge space you occupied in my world, dearest Sally. We carry you in the deepest place of our heart! I ‘d like to keep the flame of your memory & teachings alive.
