Dün sabah çok tatlı bir kadın aradı beni, uzun uzun sohbet ettik. 4 yıldır Londra’da yaşıyor, 2 çocuğu var, önceleri çocukları İngilizce öğrensin diye çırpınırken, şimdi çocuklarının onun İngilizcesini beğenmediğini söylüyor :( Dertleştik, bildiklerimi paylaşmaya çalıştım! Göçmen bir kadın olarak, ekonomik özgürlüğüm olsun, tıpkı Türkiye’deki gibi kendimi iyi şekilde ifade edeyim, sosyal hayatın içinde olayım diyorsanız, atacağınız ilk ve en önemli adım İngilizce’nizi iyi seviyelere getirmek olmalı! Sihirli bir el uzanmayacak ve birisi gelip bu dili size bir gecede öğretmeyecek! Bir an önce kendinizi mümkün olduğunca dile maruz bırakarak - formal ve informal şekilde kendinizi eğitmeniz gerekli arkadaşlarım. İngiltere’de yaşayarak öğrenemez miyim diye soruyorsunuz! Hayır! Türk televizyonu izleyerek, evde Türkçe konuşarak, Türk arkadaşlarınızla görüşerek çook uzun zaman alacaktır - muhtemelen yıllar.
