Ever wanted to take a piece of your favourite gardens home with you? Well now you can, thanks to our collaboration with @bluediamond.gardencentres and these new herbaceous border collections. Each assortment consists of 12 or 15 plants that bring to life the colourful scenes found at Nymans, Hidcote, Sissinghurst Castle Garden or Beatrix Potter’s home at Hill Top. Don’t forget to look out for the handy care tips and planting scheme included in every pack. As well as bringing a bit of the gardens you love into your own green space, every purchase will also support vital conservation work in the gardens and parks we look after. Thank you. #NationalTrust
Anyone for tea? Following #NationalCreamTeaDay last week, we asked to see your *terrific tea stops* and you didn't disappoint. Congratulations to @mrsbriggski for this tempting snap from Cake — we mean Calke — Abbey. A big thanks to our runners-up: @gunnlin1952 for enjoying a brew with a view in the Peak District; @nancy_blackett who had to pick a (Roseberry) Topping for their scones on this walk; @janeannnorman who went straight for the tearoom and @charithgilbert for this squirrel, who we can only assume has just had some tea and scones. Come back soon for another #NTChallenge. #NationalTrust
Salmon might be more remarkable than you think! But, after a huge population decline in recent years, they are in trouble and need our help. #SaveOurWildIsles #NationalTrust
For the past 3 years we’ve been working with the @nationaltrust to improve access for dogs and their owners at the places the Trust cares for. 🐾 From the introduction of the Pawprint Rating to show how dog-friendly a property is, to dog friendly trails, increased dog waste bins, drinking stations and dog washdown areas, the Dogs Welcome project has made some big improvements. We’re excited to announce that together, we’re continuing our partnership to make visits with your dog the best they can be. 🐶 Find out more: https://forthglade.com/pages/dogswelcome #forthglade #nationaltrust #partnership #dogswelcome
This magnificent swathe of foxgloves photographed by @southeastnt ranger Mike Handley is the result of gorse and birch scrub removal at Foxbury in the New Forest. For over ten years, our New Forest rangers have been restoring this former commercial conifer plantation to rare lowland heath. Grasses and heathers will gradually replace these foxgloves as the land reverts to what it has been for thousands of years. Foxgloves will remain a quintessential part of this landscape, in and on the edges of sun-dappled woodland. #NationalTrust
This #NationalMeadowsDay could be the prompt you need to plan a peaceful break in nature surrounded by swathes of grasses and wildflowers. Here we’ve selected just a few places featured in our new book, Wild Escapes, to whet your appetite for adventure. Many are located on or near places we care for, making them ideal for day trips and excursions. Where would you most like to stay? Wild Escapes is by award-winning outdoors writer @sianannalewis, and accompanied by inspirational photography from @annapurnauna. Search ‘Wild Escapes’ on our website to find out more. #NationalTrust
Go wild in a traditional hay meadow to celebrate #NationalMeadowsDay. Wildflowers and insects thrive on them, and if we allow ourselves to get closer to nature, we can fall under its magic spell, like a midsummer's dream. Run through the long grasses and breathe in the summer air, or lie down and watch the clouds drift by as the butterflies flutter past. We'd love to hear how you enjoy the magnificent meadows near you. #NationalTrust
A mission that took ten years. Sarah, also known as the scone blogger, set out to visit all of our cafes to sample a scone and discover the stories of the places we care for as she went. Find out more about her incredible quest @nt_scones #NationalTrust #NationalCreamTeaDay
With all this talk of scones, we can’t be the only ones planning a scone-filled adventure this weekend. That’s why, for this week’s #NTChallenge, we’d like you to share your *terrific tea stops*. You don’t have to show off your mouth-watering treats or teacups but do share the view you love to soak up whilst you sip your drink. To take part, add the #NTChallenge hashtag to your photos from today until Monday. Only photos uploaded to your Instagram grid are eligible - any photo taken and shared with the hashtag is eligible to be posted (along with the copy) on our Instagram channel and our other social channels, like Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr. Watch out on Monday for the winner and runners-up. No prizes; this one is just for fun. We'll get the tea party started with this traditional tea-room view at Corfe Castle, Dorset, by David Levenson. #Nationaltrust #NationalCreamTeaDay
