Wow what a crazy 7 weeks it has been since my last post. For those that know me - and Myla + Oscar - I closed my beloved brand last month to prepare for a move abroad. And wow, there is a lot to do when you decide to move abroad!! I won’t bore your with the details but in short, we’ve packed up our house and become landlords and are currently in a weird limbo phase until we get the date to fly. ▪️ But, after I closed my books and made that huge last batch… this little man arrived. My gorgeous nephew Henry. So here are the last 5 Play Cubes I ever made, and what a reason to make them ❤️. ▪️ I’m already missing working with Dad and my beloved business and I’m itching to get going on a new venture. All ideas welcome…! Jess x

This one had to go on the grid… June 2021, my last ever batch of Play Cubes. They took up the entire lounge and took days to wrap and package, let alone make. Thank you to everyone in this batch for ordering and a huge sorry to the countless people whose order I just couldn’t fit in once I’d closed. This was a pretty emotional batch to make and it is why I wanted it on my feed, so I can always look back at ‘the end’. But… it’s not the last from me yet. I have some pre-made pieces that have been tucked away that I’ll be uploading to my sale section, plus name Play Cubes that I used for display, so please do keep an eye on my stories over the next two weeks as I’ll let you know what’s been added to the sale. Wow, the orders exploded for my last batch ever, so much so that I ran out of wood and had to close one day early!! I’ve been off the radar since, getting all the orders sorted and personalised and there is still so much more to do. But I’ve stopped for a few days to take a little break away in Cornwall with mum and dad, for some last time together before we move abroad next month. Exciting times ahead but emotional too. So what’s the news? Well after 6 incredible years... it’s time to sand my last Play Cubes. My books will close for the LAST TIME on Monday 31st May 2021. ▪️ Why? Well we have always wanted to move abroad and this year, the exciting opportunity presented itself. We will be leaving to live in Malaysia at the end of July and start a new chapter in this great book they call life. ▪️ I don’t think it marks the end of Myla+Oscar because running my own brand and business has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Once the kids are settled in and we are all adapted, I’m sure I’ll get the creative bug again. ▪️ But it does mean the end of my Play Cubes. A product that was created because I couldn’t find anything like it in the UK. A product my father (an exceptional carpenter) researched, sourced and cut for me. A product that won awards, appeared in press, got sent to Buckingham Palace and was ordered (and paid for) by some pretty inspirational people. BUT it was a product YOU GUYS took to the next level. You ordered and ordered and ordered and it meant that I was able to work from home, doing a job I loved, whilst raising a young family. For that, I am truly and immensely grateful ❤️ ▪️ So, my last ever batch will be dispatched on June 14th and gosh, I’d love to make as many Play Cubes for as many little ones as possible. Please, please, please don’t wait... get your orders in! For birthdays, babies you’ve not met, little ones you’ve not seen in lockdown and Christmas presents you can keep in a safe place until then. Any reason at all to send a little one a unique, handcrafted gift. ▪️ I am experiencing every emotion under the sun right now so it’s hard to put down in words everything I want to say (the comments on the last post made me realise this!) April batch well and truly done as they have now all pretty much arrived at their destinations ✔️. Little Sophia has the colours pastel pink, white and wood and chose rabbits, hearts and stars to make up the set. The 12 Play Cubes come beautifully gift wrapped in a large white box for added luxe, which means they can be stored away too when not being played with or on display. Happy holidays ladies, gents, mums, dads, girls, boys! I hope the next two weeks are filled with sunshine, Easter treats and the long awaited meet ups with friends and families. The sun is shining in our playroom and the daffodils in our house are bringing a welcome pop of spring colour 🌼 . This Luxury Alphabet Trunk crossed the Atlantic and safely arrived in America last week. I hope the little learners enjoy all the learning and playing it brings ❤️

“I bought them because, firstly they are absolutely beautiful! But also because, in time I want them to be something Gabriella will play with & hopefully learn to spell out her name etc. I like that I can use them decoratively with the beautiful patterns but also, as they are right now, a real focal point representing her room. Wow, hasn’t the sunshine been everything this week ☀️. Even though we’re nowhere near Summer, it feels right to post a picture of my Summer Pops Play Cubes. Plain or splattered (scroll left), and painted in any colour you wish. I can send them to any little recipient you like, for any reason you like. They could spell their name, or the word PLAY or even have numbers on them to aid with learning. The choice is entirely yours. . My March batch closes tomorrow, Sunday 28th at midnight.
