🌟When I decided I wanted to lose the pandemic weight. My body REFUSED AND SAID NOPE! WHY???Because it was sick of me dieting. It shut down. The negative impact that yo-yo dieting has on our body is so detrimental. 🌟When I gained the weight I was so tempted to just go on a detox, a cleanse and do a quick fix diet. I even looked into getting lipo. YUP. Keeping it all the way real. Nothing wrong with a little nip and tuck but I knew I had a bigger problem that lipo wouldn’t fix long term. I had to fix my mindset, I had to commit to making this a lifestyle, I had to find a WHY that was bigger than looking good for the next big event. I had to relearn my body again. 🌟I had to regroup. When I made the decision to stick to a more loving & sustainable way in losing the excess pounds that’s when my body FINALLY started to cooperate. How did I do it? Consistency, eating foods I enjoy, not fighting my body, sticking to a realistic workout routine, PROMISING my body I would do right by it by honoring it everyday the best way I know how. Not comparing my body to the next athlete or fitness model on the Internet because everyone has their own lifestyle. Mine needed to be realistic for MY life. I wanted to eat foods I enjoyed without spending most of my hours in a gym. After all I have a full life outside of the gym I need to enjoy. 🌟Absolutely nothing wrong with the before pic. I just have more energy today. My skin is more supple and tighter. I actually enjoy working out again. Working out doesn’t feel like punishment. I’m not driving myself crazy on whether or not I should have a piece of cake. 🌟If you didn’t get a chance to tune into my “Shrink your Tummy” series. They are still posted under my Highlights section. My FREE “Shrink Your Tummy” challenge starts Monday 10/25 where you have a chance to win $500 in prizes. you’ll get daily workouts, nutrition guidance, mindset coaching, accountability and a supportive community. 🌟Running to a meeting. Feels good to wear something other than workout gear😂….Yesterday in my IG STORY SERIES I touched upon tools to use if you want to start losing a few pounds without counting calories. I do believe there is a place for counting calories and tracking your macronutrients (carbs, fat and protein) intake. BUT I do understand people just want to get started without counting anything. 🌟EAT FOODS YOU ENJOY. Can’t stress this enough. I remember back in the day, I would start a new diet, Throw everything I liked that was in my kitchen cabinets in the garbage and replace them with “healthy” foods. Yeah they were healthy but half that ish I ain’t like😞. I would allow myself “cheat days” and then binge on those foods when I got my hands on them when the weekend came along. The bingeing erased all the efforts I put in during the week. 🤦🏽‍♀️ 🌟I’m gonna keep it real and say any diet with a name attached to it is not sustainable for MOST people. Unless you have a medical condition, restricting foods is not the answer. I’m not saying scarf down pizza, ice cream and donuts all day but none of those foods should be on your “BAD” list. In my experience any food I’ve restricted in the past only made me want it more. 🌟Things like increasing your fiber, not skipping meals when you’re hungry, staying hydrated, having sufficient protein amongst other things helps to reduce your cravings for less satiating and less nutritious foods. 🌟Believe it or not, knowing that you can have your favorite foods at any time… You end up eating less of it over time. It’s no longer a forbidden item. 🌟See you guys in a few hours for DAY 2 of the free training Series on my IG STORY 8PM ET. Oh and you can still view day 1 for the next few hours.

🌟There was a time in my life where I was doing all the cardio, going to the gym and eating what I thought was a “healthy” diet and still wasn’t getting any results. Any results I did get were short lived. I had no clue what I was doing wrong. Its not that I wasn’t motivated, I read every article, followed every video on Instagram, YouTube & the Internet and tried to implement all the advice I’d see online. 🌟Then it clicked… I wasn’t following a routine that was right for ME, For my BODY TYPE, for my LIFESTYLE, let alone addressing the root cause of my constant weight fluctuation. I finally decided to invest in myself and end up tailoring a wellness lifestyle that suits me. 🌟Right picture is from this morning. I always take progress pics from time to time to remind myself how far I’ve come. Left picture was from a few months ago from the pandemic weight gain. NO, I don’t have a six pack. I hardly do isolated ab workouts. The lifestyle I’ve chosen for now allows me to feel good, sexy, eat healthy while enjoying my occasional fried chicken and sweets. Balance, Balance, Balance. 🌟I’m grateful that I decided to get certified in nutrition and fitness coaching a few years ago BUT it wasn’t until after years of yo-yo dieting, using food for comfort, over-exercising that I finally understood the importance of keeping it SIMPLE & SUSTAINABLE 🌟Trust me when I say this, I get the struggle so I decided to do a 5 day FREE “SHRINK YOUR TUMMY” training this week Mon-Fri that will be on my IG story this week at 8pm ET. They’ll be quick and brief but great tools I wish I would’ve implemented when I first started to transform my body years ago. 🌟If you feel someone can benefit from this FREE training, tag them below ❤️

Quick 30 minute Home workout & abs completed today - short and sweet. 🌟The old me would never fathom just doing a 30 minute workout because I used to believe that the longer your workout were the better. WRONG. There is a place for both long and short workouts 🌟I have found a sense of balance and freedom with food and fitness. It’s been quite a journey. It took a lot of trial and error and gaining the same 20-30lbs. A lot of highs and lows. 🌟Of course I want to look sexy in my clothes BUT I prioritize how I want to feel because it’s one of the things that helps keep me consistent. 🌟FUN TIP: I try to wear a workout outfit I feel cute and happy in, even if I’m exercising from home. Helps boost my mood and increases my motivation to workout at home:)

🌟If I were to go back and change anything in my yo-yo dieting phase and yo-yo exercising phase, it would be to put less emphasis on the number on the scale and more emphasis on how I want to FEEL and SHOW up in the world. When you focus a little more on this, it becomes so much easier to shed those extra unwanted pounds. 🌟No better feeling than being happy in the body you’re in. Your mood is better. you’re happier, You handle life’s nuances so much better. You walk to the beat of your own drum. The energy you exude is contagious. It’s empowering.
