Meet Leo, our baby California Sea lion 🥹 Born to mum, Carla, and dad, Hugo, on June 8th… which also happens to be World Oceans Day! World Oceans Day raises awareness for conserving the place where these animals call home. Of the six sea lion species in the wild, four of them are currently listed as endangered or near threatened due to overfishing and plastic pollution. Meet our new arrivals... seven Humboldt penguin chicks! 😍 The three male and four female chicks, which began hatching on 25 April 2023 (which is World Penguin Day... fitting!) are gaining strength and confidence daily thanks to the constant care from their parents and zoo keepers 🐧 Humboldt penguins are medium-sized penguins, which come from the shores of Chile and Peru, named for a chilly water current that flows along the South American coast.
