Hello team AHWATNA! We’ve been quiet for a while since the network is down in Tigray for the past 3 weeks, but have a lot of exciting projects we can’t wait to complete. Here are some pictures of the sanitary pads, underwears, and soaps we donated to the Kisanet Women’s IDP center in Mekelle, Tigray.

Ahwatna Relief Organization was able to send 50 care packages to the registered rape survivors in Shire’s IDP centers. Thank you to @unitedtegaru_aus for sponsoring this. Photos coming soon (hopefully, the internet has been down in most of Shire). ♥️💛

This week we were able to send 6 kuntal (1,322 pounds) of wheat flour to the city of Nebelet, Tigray as well as restock some groceries and coal for the Ayder IDP center in Mekelle. Thank you for your donations and for helping us help our people. ♥️💛

Latest update from @unicef on how the crisis is affecting children in Tigray. @ahwatna is dedicated to providing food aid for the malnourished children and have been able to feed over 300 internally displaced kids and hospital patients in the capital city Mekelle over the last few weeks. Please continue to donate so that we can continue to provide for the children of Tigray. ♥️💛

@Ahwatna has identified 17 extremely malnourished kids in the Ayder IDP center that are seeking treatment and taking medication for diabetes, cancer, and other illnesses. Our team met with the mothers of these patients who shared that some of their children haven’t eaten properly in months due to dietary restrictions, reacting to the medication, or simply because they are scared in a new environment as they have been displaced from their homes and are struggling to adjust. Our team will be providing weekly groceries to these children that their mothers can use to cook for them in hopes that this change of menu would be more kid friendly and allow them to regain their weight. We are planning on adding more items to this menu. Please continue to donate so we can help more children. ♥️💛

The @ahwatna team is proud to be able to have gifted this container to the displaced people of Adwa. It came all the way from Mekelle and cost over 100k birr. They will be turning it into a makeshift bakery and to store their bread baking machinery. The bread made here will then be distributed daily to the IDP centers.
