⭐GYM OPEN!?!?⭐ Gyms in the Toronto area, it looks like July 13th might be our date for reopening. (GoodLife sent out a message yesterday). My hubby broke the "possible" news, and after a long drawn out scream, I literally couldn't stop crying. The gym has been my: ➡️ Rock (through the toughest battles of my life). ➡️ Security (when I felt I had noone to turn to). Going through extensive education in CBT - I learned that my obsession with the gym was a coping mechanism that was not 💯 helpful. I used workouts as a distraction technique, to avoid dealing with the pain and heartache from past traumas. Did it work? Sure, but I wasn't able to truly move on and feel free from lingering episodes of depression and anxiety. I remember being in the hospital with cancer in 2016, not being able to workout. My coping mechanism was taken away. I could either go through another round of depression, or I could step up and make a change. That was when I began my journey learning CBT. I learned new coping strategies and healed my deep rooted beliefs/rules that were not helping me live my best life. 4 years later, I continue to use CBT daily - while bringing the concepts into my coaching practice. Right this very moment 10 Bunnies are going through the FIRST EVER: ⭐Get Psych'd Course: Fitness For Your Mind! ⭐ 2 weeks in, and the growth is astounding! I love learning from you all! Look forward to our Saturday sessions 💓💓💓 Just like the Bunnies taking the course: When my gyms open I will walk in and OWN the gym... because the gym no longer owns me! 💓 Are you going to OWN the gym? 💓 #tbt #workoutmotivation #fitnessforyourmind #cbt #teambunny #ownthegym
😠 Frustrated? Angry? 😤 Don't be - people that copy will always be one step behind. In a digital world, where information is being pumped out faster then ever before - REMEMBER THIS... Someone took hours, months, even years researching, writing and publishing those books/courses you take a moment to copy and post. Do you like their work? CREDIT THEM! They deserve it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⬇️PLEASE comment ⬇️ with someone who you believe deserves recognition for their hard work! Tag Away!!!! #teambunny #wakeupwednesday #givecredit #dontbearichard #showrespect
📵To APP or not to APP?📵 A little about me... I have a total of of 13 apps on my phone. I am a pen and paper kind of girl. This includes how I create programs - both online (all of the Ultimate Training Programs) and 1-to-1 coaching. I do NOT have an APP, and I get asked all the time - NOT by clients, but by other coaches and business "experts" why I don't follow suit and go APP friendly. There are a few reasons why I choose to NOT go the APP route for #teambunny 1️⃣ I am stubborn 😂. Many of you know how old school I am! Technology is great - but we don't need all of the bells and whistles to obtain our fitness goals. 2️⃣ My clients don't care for the next flashy app - they care about the actual programming. I can deliver all that my clients need without an app. 3️⃣ I like knowing that my clients will be less distracted with their phones in between sets. A majority of them enjoy logging their workouts in a diary instead of a phone. 4️⃣ A large percentage of my clients spend a majority of their day on the phone. They really enjoy the digital rest! There are benefits to both methods - so please no keyboard hate on this post. There are many different ways to coach and program - which suit individual preferences. (I'm your app free coach 😁) I am curious, could you workout without an APP? Yes or no? Comment below⬇️ #teambunny #appfreezone #transformationtuesday #workoutoftheday
The day I took off my security blanket, was the day I began to forgive myself. I was no longer a prisoner to my own self-sabotage. By forgiving myself for past regrets, mistakes, guilt and shame, I stopped: 🛑 Using exercise as a form or punishment. 🛑 Feeling the need to make myself as "small" as possible (physically and mentally). 🛑 Making excuses for the fear that I might fail. 🛑 Settling for a half ass life and body. Over the past weekend, I have sat with the concept of forgiveness and the impact it's has on health and fitness transformations. The amount of questions I get about my "top tips" for weight loss - after posting any progress photo is always very overwhelming. I struggle with this question because my answer is not a quick fix solution. It doesn't involve a certain diet or training protocol. It involves you actually going beyond all the bandaid approaches you have used in the past. It involves you proactively doing some deep rooted sh*t. ⭐It starts with forgiving yourself. ⭐ Comment with ♥️♥️♥️ if you agree that forgiveness can help with weight-loss / fitness sabotage. #motivationmonday #teambunny #selfsabotage #fitmindfitbody #fitnesspsychology #hardtruth #fitnesshealthcoach #mondaymood
⭐ 3 Months of At-Home WORKOUTS ⭐ My focus has been running, in addition to 20 minutes of weight training 6x a week. No heavy lifting and I didn't lose my "muscle." Whenever the gym opens, GAME ON! I have Never been more motivated to hit the gym then right now! I can live without a manicure. I can live with roots. But I cannot live without my gym. 💓 This has literally been the longest I have ever been without a gym - since 2002! Boy do I miss you! But this time has made me realize how much I took advantage of my time in the gym - not appreciating the opportunity to go and do something for myself away from work. So when the gym opens - I promise things will be different! Ultimate Training Program - Can't wait to start this again! Who's joining me? 💪💪💪 . . #athomeworkouts #teambunny #imissthegym #trainwithme

💲It's easy to make a buck. How do you feel about your body right now, in this very moment? Before you answer, take yourself out of past or future-tense statements. No thinking things like “well I used to be a lot thinner” or “if it wasn't for this pandemic I would have been at my goal weight.” For many women, this question is a daunting one. It’s one that can bring up a lot emotions such as shame, fear or frustration. The good news is that it is possible to answer that question in a POSITIVE way. To love and appreciate your body no matter what size you are. Don’t believe me? Anyone who has tried fad diets or extreme weight loss plans can tell you that losing a certain amount of weight doesn’t automatically bring you self-acceptance. It comes from loving and respecting yourself right NOW, no matter where you are on your fitness journey. Here’s a radical thought: give yourself permission to love your body the way it is right now—no conditional if’s, ands, or buts (or butts!) about it. When you consider that 94% of girls have been body shamed by the time they get to high school, you realize that as a grown woman, loving your body as-is is a revolutionary and necessary act. Not just for yourself, but to set an example that no matter what society deems “the perfect body,” the perfect body is the one that lets you live your own beautiful life. Wherever you are in your health journey, that journey should start with knowing you have WORTH and VALUE as a human being in whatever shape you are in. Don’t get me wrong, we all have parts of our bodies we want to improve (and that’s fine) but you aren’t going to be successful hating your way to change. It’s the difference between: “I hate my fat thighs” and “I am going to do some lunges and squats today to work on toning my thighs.” I believe loving your body and loving yourself is the only path to a healthier you. Ditch the body shaming and embrace the body you have right now and everything it does for you.
💪Do You Have A Healthy Relationship With Exercise?💪 ✅YES!! Exercise is a good thing... especially if you do it for the right reasons! After having an unhealthy relationship with exercise for many years growing up... I have figured out how to create a happy, healthy balance - that I am proud to teach you right NOW! 🤷♀️ Are you unsure if your relationship with exercise is a healthy one? First, ask what your intention is. If you tend to rebudle with, “Well what is wrong with that?” I challenge you to unpack those thoughts. ➡️ How much of your day/week is centered around your workout? ➡️ Are you able to skip a workout and feel at peace? ➡️ Do you think about how you will fit it in the rest of your day, or how you will make it up tomorrow? ➡️ Can you travel and NOT plan your vacation around workouts? ➡️ When you have had a bad night of sleep, can you pick rest over a workout? 👂Hear me out... these are NOT lazy choices! This is what I like to call: "Fit-Care." It is essential to move our bodies in a way that feels good. However, your workout schedule should be flexible and ebb and flow with your season of life. 😲 Ready for this? ✖️EXERCISE IS NOT THERAPY ✅THERAPY IS THERAPY 💪Our bodies are meant to move. But #dietculture has hijacked it. We MUST be fitter, faster, stronger. We use exercise to escape and call it “therapy” when we might actually need therapy instead. ✖️There are no sick days. Rest days have to include a walk or yoga. We get dependent on “The Pump.” ⚠️Over-exercise is real and it is harmful to your health and happiness. I should know- I was walking proof. ♥️I promise that it is OK to take a break from exercise to help you figure it all out! Just ask the clients I work with. The past few years, the REAL life transformations have been nothing short of empowering! #CBT ✍️Comment with ➡️IT'S OK ⬅️ to let other readers know that you support them in taking a day off. #dayoff #teambunny #tbt #overtraining #cognitivebehavioraltherapy #fitnessjourney #fitnessmotivation #thursdayvibes
⁉️NEWS FLASH⁉️ We are all guilty of doing it. We have all been there. There is no denying it. During some point in our fitness transformations, a majority of people have tried to take the easy way out. (Including me). . . 🤷♀️Do I blame anyone for doing this? No. I believe we are naturally inclined to minimize pain and hardship, and this can be healthy in many scenarios, but not in regards to health and fitness. 💪 Growing up as an athlete, every coach I worked with instilled the message, "work hard." Whether that was training, nutrition, studying or scheduling my day - I was told hard work will pay off. (Boy, were they right!) ⚠️However - one of the problems in today's society is the potent desire for instant gratification in regards to getting that slim, toned body. Nowadays, without instant gratification, we tend to slack off or abort the day-to-day necessary tasks. 🧠Since our attention spans have drastically decreased, there is an increased tendency for us to shy away from a challenge if we are not constantly encouraged and recognized for our efforts/progress. 💓SORRY - but it is time to grow up! It is time to get off the "gram" and put in the work! Your body will recognize your strong work ethic and eventually you will obtain your health and fitness goals. . . ✖️ Those who 'cut corners' are only temporarily satisfied with their bodies and burn out faster. Yes, they may have lost the 10lbs in a matter of weeks... but now what? These people often find themselves feeling unsatisfied and often exude a diminished sense of pride. ✅Good things can happen to people who cheat their way through fitness, but better things happen to good people who work hard and don't take the easy way out! ✍️Comment with ➡️IKEA ⬅️ if you refuse to take fitness shortcuts! #IKEA #teambunny #transformationtuesday #cognitivebehaviouraltherapy #dietculture
♥️ Happy Anniversary ❤️ I still can't believe it - six years ago @musclememorymag and I popped our cover cherries. 🍒🍒 The first cover was born! I remember this moment, as if it were yesterday! What an honour to launch the first issue of #musclememory magazine! 😲 But Wait! 😲 What you might not see is the cocktail of emotions that accompany a "career high" moment. ➡️ On one side - a huge sense of accomplishment, pride and honour. ➡️ But on the other side - feelings of disappointment, sadness and guilt. Within just six years, the dozens of people that helped make that cover happen, are no longer in my life. Not one. Today, if you are reading this, I want to say, "Thank You." Although I may not have expressed my gratitude back then - your support did not go unnoticed. Although we may no longer be friends... heck, we likely even stopped following eachother or even hit the block button... please know I am forever grateful for the time we shared together. Not everyone you meet will continue to be in your life. And that's ok. Don't take it personally because you may have helped them more then you will ever know. I wouldn't be who I am today without you. Thank you ♥️ #covermodel #transfoemationtuesday #grateful #happyanniversary #lifelesson #magazinecover
