Going back to where I started and bringing a couple of these Rainbow Mountain plates out of the archive for @mwashingtonmade this Saturday, 9/30, 9am-1pm. A portion of sales go to support the kids at Mt. Washington Elementary. Come do some early holiday shopping and have pancakes for breakfast!

For a small window of time in my 20s I wanted to live in the rural Midwest. This is the house I imagined waiting for me on the Great Plains. 🌾

Hook Mountain, Nyack, NY. A view from the part of the Hudson River I grew up near. When I was a little kid I would walk the trail by the river with my parents and scour the beach for pieces of sea glass. As a teenager my friends and I would scramble up the mountain during the day and hang out by the shore into the wee hours of the night. We drank stolen wine out of the bottle and felt sophisticated. As an adult I discovered this same spot depicted in paintings by artists of the Hudson River school like Sanford Robinson Gifford and Albert Bierstadt. Even though it's been years since I lived there, it’s a place that’s forever imprinted on my memory.
