Collecting soft-serve ice cream in Japan ππ¦ there are some truly unique flavors you can find in different prefectures or local farms like wasabi, soy sauce and udon flavor π€ soft serves can be found pretty much everywhere and in convenience stores, but the best ones are from local farms where they use their produce to make the ice cream. They are also very reasonably priced at Β₯350-450. These are the flavors I've tried so far πͺ» Lavender Locations: Farm Tomita & Flowerland Kamifurano in Hokkaido π Yubari Melon Locations: Popura Farm, Farm Tomita, Shirogane Biruke and quite commonly found all over Hokkaido π΅ Matcha Green Tea & Hojicha Locations: all over Japan π» Sunflower Locations: unique to Hokuryu sunflower village in Hokkaido π« Ishiya Chocolate Locations: atmos Heart in Shibuya, Haneda Airport T2 Departure, Shiroi Koibito Park in Sapporo, Asahikawa Airport Departure π¦ Convenience store pre-served ice cream Locations: Lawson, 7-eleven, Family Mart (tbh, it's not that good because it gets frozen really hard and it's priced the same so you might as well find a shop with the soft-serve machine and get it fresh)
Honestly, it was pretty clean and comfortable, and I never stay in hostels π«£ Some tips if you plan to stay here: - Book directly on the ninehours website and create an account to enjoy 10% off. - Book early to enjoy early-bird prices. The price went up by Β₯1000 nearer my check-in date. - Pack toiletries & essentials in a travel bag so that it is easy to access. Otherwise, you may end up having to access your luggage multiple times. - Bring a portable fan because there there is no air circulation in the pod once you close the blinds. It gets stuffy.
Central Hokkaido is like a rainbow in summer ππ If you are really tight on time, visiting Shikisai no Oka and Farm Tomita is sufficient. Flowers begin blooming in mid-April until October depending on what you want to see, but most flowers reach their peek bloom during summer π Bus tours are available for these farms but they honestly donβt give you enough time to enjoy the flowers. πΈ Shikisai no Oka (Kamikawa, Biei) Iconic hills with colorful stripes of flowers. This farm spans 150,000 square metres with about 30 different types of flowers in full bloom. There is also an alpaca ranch inside the farm! πͺ»Farm Tomita (Nakafurano, Sorachi) Most well-known for their giant fields of lavender and lavender products. They do have other types of flowers too. Make sure to eat the lavender ice cream here and check out the Melon House for more sweet treats and delicious food. πΊ Zerubu Hill (Kamikawa, Biei) Another hill of colorful flowers. This field isnβt particularly catered towards walking pedestrians as many areas are reserved for ATVs. Itβs still nice to admire while having some icecream on a hot summer day. πΌ Flowerland Kamifurano (Kamifurano, Sorachi) This farm is similar but much smaller than Shikisai no Oka and the landscape is not as aesthetic. But, there are far less people. π» Hokuryu Sunflower Village (Hokuryu, Uryu) The biggest sunflower field in Japan with over 2 million sunflowers during peak bloom. Donβt forget to try the unique sunflower flavored soft serve here. π Ueno Farm (Asahikawa) There are many areas to this farm. The main area comprises of an English-style garden with more than 2000 kinds of flowers blooming over spring to autumn. A road up the hill leads to a 360Β° panoramic view of Asahikawa.
I feel the lavender haze creeping up on meπͺ»i just wanna stay in that lavender haze π
If you reeeeeally must visit Japan in summer, why not head to Hokkaido where the temps are slightly lower and crowds are far less! This was my 10-day itinerary in central Hokkaido. You can probably cover more stuff if you drive. Since we relied on public transport, we kept our days short, visiting attractions in close proximity to each other so that we donβt get too tired. #visitjapanjp #visitjapan #visithokkaido #japansummer #japanguide #hokkaidoguide #japantraveltips #explorejapan #japanitinerary #japanplacestovisit #japanplanning
Beauty and her beast πΉπ€ I think I found the perfect place in Japan, other than Disneyland, to dress up like Belle and feel like Iβm in the movie π visiting Ishiya Factory was part of the original plan but going to Gotenzan Park was something we decided on the spot, so it was really coincidental that it turned out looking so countryside and fairytale β¨ π: Ishiya Chocolate Factory & Gotenzan Park in Sapporo π: @shopmegoosta #visitjapan #visithokkaido #visitsapporo #beautyandthebeast #princessbelle #modestdress #modestoutfit #everydaycosplay #disneyprincesscosplay #disneyprincessstyle

30 revolutions around the sun βοΈπ» π¦ some days I question my existence, on more days I feel like thereβs so much of the world I have yet to see. So cheers to being healthy to continue doing what I love with the people I love π₯°
Tag someone youβd like to come here with π During my visit in late July, half of the field was already in bloom so Iβm assuming everything will be in full bloom and more beautiful next week π»π»π» it is super hot though so wear a hat, apply sunscreen and bring an umbrella βοΈ Official website: www.portal.hokuryu.info/sunflower #japansummer #hokkaidotrip #visitjapanjp #visitjapan #visithokkaido #sunflowerfestival #sunflowerfields #traveljapan #explorejapan #sunflowerseason
Hands in the air for sunflower season ππ»π»π π: Hokuryu Sunflower Village - the largest sunflower field in Japan with over 1.5 million sunflowers π» looks literally like an endless sea of yellow sunshine βοΈ The field opens from late-July to August and the best viewing time is usually the first week of August. The bus that stops outside of the field also only operates during this time so it is still easy to visit via public transport ππ»
Wearing my prettiest tea party dress to dance with flowers πΌπΌπΌ π: Flowerland Kamifurano, Hokkaido, Japan This farm is a lot less touristy so you can expect fewer people to photobomb your pics. The terrain of the field isnβt as aesthetic as Shikisai No Oka so youβll have to get more creative with your shots, but the flowers are equally vibrant π
Canβt wait to edit and post Japan summer content but here are some daffodils in the meantime πΌ
