Country Road is proud to announce a partnership with the Twyg Sustainable Fashion Awards 2020, to support and grow South African designers. We will participate in the judging of the Changemaker Award and offer R100 000 prize money to this category's winner. The category recognises a designer whose career has embraced sustainable and circular design practices. The recipient’s collections will have helped raise awareness of environmental and social issues. Criteria include choice of fabric, ethical labour practices, and the consideration of upcycling, the reduction of waste and the use of non-toxic dyes. This designer demonstrates a commitment to promoting slow consumer fashion habits. The winner to be announced on 19 November 2020. This is just the beginning, we can’t wait to share what comes next.
