When police gun down peaceful anti-police brutality protesters, who will protect the citizens? 💔. Not so long ago we were posting the heartbreaking violation of human rights in Zimbabwe by its leaders. That’s still not resolved by the way. Today it’s Nigerian government killing its people. Africa is this going to be our story? When will we have true leadership? Greedy thugs are going to kill us all if we don’t stop them. We deserve good health care systems, phenomenal education, decent living conditions, protection by our police forces and have the right to live. Are we waiting to post the next African state flag? How many more flags to post until Africa sees real change in leadership? What can I do to effect real change? 🥺Sigh... #RespectHumanRights #PrayForNigeria #EndSARS

One thing this lockdown season has taught me, is learning to romanticize my life. Meals have become an occasion to treat myself real good. Bath times are exciting wellness moments that I look forward to. I notice the beautiful scents of my @dove products too, which I’ve been taking for granted before. Beauty has become an experience, everyday small moments have become cute. It’s in this practice that I look forward to every day. The small things have become big things in my life. I’m so glad to be working with @dove in reigniting #BeautyAtHomeWithU to start truly living again. #MotivationalMonday #WellnessWednesday #SelfCareSunday #FashionFriday #RealBeauty

When I was born, you were a teenager from a poor family. The odds were against us but you took one look at me and said ‘I’m confident that we are going to make it by Gods grace’. You named me Confidence so that I’d be a constant reminder of that. You always speak things into existence and here we are. Very gracious in being. Feisty AF (you don’t want to get on her bad side) and today fabulously 50!!!! Half a century is a milestone Mama G. I love you! Happy 50th birthday my mom ❤️
You’ve gotta start romanticizing your life. You gotta start believing that your morning commute is cute and fun, that every cup of coffee is the best you’ve ever had, that even the smallest and most mundane things are exciting and new. You have to, because that’s when you start truly living. That’s when you look forward to every day. —unknown
“We all know what it’s like to be told that there is not a place for you to be featured. Yet you are young, gifted and Black. We know what it’s like to be told there’s not a screen for you to be featured on, a stage for you to be featured on. We know what it’s like to be the tail and not the head. We know what it’s like to be beneath and not above.” “That is what we went to work with every day,” he continued. “Because we knew … that we had something special that we wanted to give the world. That we could be full human beings in the roles that we were playing. That we could create a world that exemplified a world that we wanted to see.” - @chadwickboseman . .
