*Thought* Is slow living anti-tech? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - In my opinion, anti tech is almost the same as anti progress. At some point you’re almost ‘obliged’ to follow the mass. Seems like a negative thought, however you can quite easily adapt tech while living slow. Create healthy habits by using available tools such as meditation apps, smartwatches to start a new workout routine and music platforms to play binaural sounds before falling asleep. 🌙 Note: don’t make tech your reward at the end of the day, but crowd it out with activities that aren’t around it. By creating daily routines where tech isn’t the main focus, you balance the usage of it. The reason why I came up with this *thought* is because I’m listening to more podcasts around slow living nowadays. This small group of people who actually have a steady ‘slow living routine’ are those who I look up to. Starting new routines when you’re (still) excited about it are always quite easy, but maintaining those are the biggest challenge. How do you maintain a new habit or routine? PS: Am I the only one who’s loving the calmness these days? 🌞 [Throwback to Paris, 8 ième – March 2020.] . . . . . . . . . . #slowhome #slowliving #podcasts #stayinspired #mindfulliving #calmness #slowdown #slowdownwithstills #paris #throwbacktime #parisianstreets #parisianvibes #frenchvibes #paris8eme #streetshot #emptystreets #igersbelgium #beinspired #mindfullthinking #5minutejournal #parissunset #8eme #streetview.

“What is Social Media when there’s nothing to brag about? Many of us are discovering it’s a lot more fun.” 👩🏻‍🎨 -TechCrunch ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ While the majority between us saw Social Media as a digital competition by constantly looking at the scoreboard, the tables have turned. ‎ No follower counts on Zoom, no likes on Houseparty and definitely no popularity ranking on Netflix Party. #covid_19 has given us the opportunity to rediscover Social Media and become more social. I tried Houseparty a few times now and it’s astonishing what a Social Media platform like this means for us nowadays. Bringing joy into your living room and actually connecting to people when you are physically apart. ‎ Decrease of filters, real-time interaction and primarily no scoreboard nor metrics. 🧖🏻‍♀️ . . . . . . #slowdown #housepartyapp #zoom #connectinghappiness #socialmediaapps #positivevibes #netflixparty #stayhome #socialmediatips #socialmediatrends #techtrends #socialmediatip #techcrunch #digitalmedia #lemarais #paris #parisfrance #parisian #throwback #shorty #hotelfelicien #recylcledpolyester #pringle #16ieme #discoverunder5k #curlscurlscurls #fentybeautyhighlighter #igersbelgium

*Trends* When a crisis arises and communities are strengthen by digital media. ‎ 🌱 - We’re living in a digital era where “social distancing” is being battled online. Coming together in moments of crisis is nothing new. Besides that, creating new communities during a crisis neither. ‎ It’s astonishing to see how people are connecting through Facebook-, WhatsApp- and even Instagram (DM) groups. In only a short amount of time, tons of new initiatives and ways of communicating through digital media emerged. From organizing raves in your living room with the next Boiler Room LIVE to watching a movie with your friends using FaceTime. ‎ One of the examples @wired shared in a recent article, was a Massachusetts-based “Adaptable Google doc” as “neighborhood pod” to organize their community. Think about an integrated group chat, contact sheet with all details of your neighbors, FAQ sheet and the option to share supplies/meals with older ones. ‎ Long story short, we’re gifted with piles of digital tools to stay connected. It’s the moment to experiment with existing features and build communities to support each other. Strengthen your community online and be creative by finding different ways to still host that lunchdate you had planned. 😉 ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ So, let’s inspire each other by sharing the following: “How are you re-inventing meet-ups with family, friends and colleagues”? ‎ Stay connected! xoxo . . . . . . . . #stayconnected #staysafe #covid_19 #communityfirst #community #sharethelove #shareknowledge #wired #wiredmagazine #digitalmedia #facebookgroup #facetime #socialmediatips #socialmediamarketing #paris #onlinecommunity #digitalfirst #parisianstyle #parisianvibes #3ième #pfw2020 #lemarais #lemaraisparis #shorty #recycledpolyester #pringle #palaisdetokyo #vintageparis #vintageclothing #slowfashion

*Tip* The majority of brands aren’t implementing their biggest marketing asset (yet): their employees. 👩🏻‍⚖️ - The importance of turning employees into real advocates. Employee advocacy has been around for quite some time, however a lot of brands are still struggling with the implementation of it. . Visited bookstore 0FR. Paris last weekend and besides the fact this wonderful store had everything you would expect, it had the worst staff ever. Rare fashion magazines, art books, postcards - name it, this little treasure in Le Marais had it all. Everything except employee advocacy. ‎ Employees who represent your business in a positive way online and offline are key. They’re experts of your products and seen as real spokespersons. A potential of ambassadors that OFR. Paris was missing. Apart from throwing an old man out of the store because he walked too “slow”, they yelled to a group of tourists saying they weren’t welcome. After only being there for 10 minutes, they made us leave with a feeling of bitterness. ⚠️ ‎ Long story short, be critical who you hire, choose people who breathe your brand and don’t let your customers walk away from you due to your staff. ☠️ . . . . . #ofr #ofrparis #lemarais #paris #parisianstyle #parisianvibes #lemaraisparis #bookstore #bookstagram #ofrparistotebag #chagall #arty #artbooks #ofrlibrairiegalerie #3ieme #marcchagall #library #parisparis #lemaraisparis #igersbelgium #southerncharm #discoverunder5k #bookstagrammer

*Trends* Snapchat is making hypercondensed shows specifically to watch on a smartphone. - Vulture Magazine 🤖 . If I had to answer “What comes after TV?” At this moment, I’d immediately think of Social Media TV. Why? Combine the fact that there is almost no TV consumption within Generation Z with the fact this group of consumers is extremely active on apps such as Snapchat and TikTok. In an ideal world, we would combine these two factors and come up with the perfect solution: Mobile TV. Nothing is less true. A recent article of @vulture stated some difficulties when looking deeper into the production of Social Media TV. One of the difficulties was no time for slow builds on mobile. While TV-shows grab someone’s attention within the first 3 minutes, platforms such as Snapchat only have 3 seconds to convince their online audience. . Snapchat did take the challenge of creating Social Media series and they called it Snap Originals. A separate feature the platform offers were comedy, horror and reality shows are all available. Think about short-form videos, vertical frames and a lot of interactivity through the episodes. One of the main shows where Snapchat focuses on, is “Dead of Night”. A zombie apocalypse story that contains 10 episodes and a total runtime of 40 minutes. 👻 An exciting show that contained a lot of real-life interactions such as FaceTime, however coped with the issue of distraction by users. When users watched the show and got in-app notifications from friends, they left the show. In short, we still have a long way to go before TV will fully evolve on Social Media platforms. Would you be a fan of it? 🎞 . . . . . . . . . #rotterdam #rotterdamcity #kubuswoningen #architecturelovers #architectural #pietblom #pietblomarchitect #pietblomarchitecture #rotterdamart #weekendvibes #vscofilter #thatauthenticfeeling #yellow #warmtones #sunnykiss #styleoftheday #igersbelgium #igersantwerp #thisisrotterdam #kubus #yellowaesthetic #snaporiginals #socialmediatips #vulture

Where Art-Deco meets African Art - Museum Van Buuren. 🧑🏻‍🎨 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Visited this beautiful space exactly a month ago which is located in the center of Brussels. A hidden treasure for those who are fan of artists such as James Ensor, Gustave Van De Woestyne and more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For the first time Van Buuren experimented with two separate collections and African Art styles. Result? A subtle blend where expressive pieces found peace between Art-Deco furniture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Visiting tip: Pick out a sunny Sunday to combine the expo with their stunning garden. Exposition is still running until March. 👩🏻‍🌾 . . . . . #museumvanbuuren #vanbuuren #artdeco #gustavevandewoestyne #jamesensor #arts #artdeco #artdecostyle #artdecohome #ihaveathingwithfloors #brussels #artbrussels #africanart #thisisbrussels #igersbelgium #styleinspo #carpetdesign #artdecocarpet #igersantwerp #artistsoninstagram #ukkel

*Newsflash* Instagram is launching “unfollow suggestions” as one of their new features. 🏌🏻‍♀️ - Based on Instagram’s algorithm principles, the platform is working towards a more closed community for their users. By prioritizing content from people you interact with and suggesting categories such as “close friends lists”. An environment where micro communities are ranked higher due to a larger percentage of authentic engagement. From now on, Instagram will also show you who you interact with least frequently in case you want to unfollow them. Introducing “unfollow suggestions” which will help users to have a more clean and relevant newsfeed. Think about users you followed (back) 5 years ago who aren’t matching your interests anymore and content you just don’t care about. By making it easier to manage account preferences, Instagram wants to prove that their platform brings people closer. At the same time, ad impressions will increase as users will probably spend more time on the app. Next to that, a sneaky way to gain more advertising revenue. My main question is, will people actually use this feature? 🤔 Would you start cleaning up your account too? . . . . . . #socialmedia #socialmediamarketing #socialmediatips #instagramhub #instagrammarketing #digitalmarketingtips #authenticity #vintageclothing #vintagevibes #curlyhairstyles #mood #weekendvibes #igersbelgium #vscogirl #interieurinspiratie #home #antwerptoday #vintageinterior #harmonie #minimalist #nichecommunity #artistsoninstagram #curlala #auntjackies #auntjackiescurlsandcoils

“It’s cool to be vulnerable.” ——————————————— 2019, a year filled with a lot of honesty and openness. A pretty normal reaction against social media trends, advertising and fake news. 📮 People created their own habitat where stories drew strength from their weaknesses. In other words… authentic stories. A term that’s used far too much, nevertheless explains this topic in a nutshell. Hiding less, showing more and most of all being real towards the ones surrounding you. Not only a common movement amongst consumers, celebrities joined as well. From Nikkie Tutorials coming out last month to Lizzo liberating people with her music and tons of new content formats where celebs are more transparent. A way of being vulnerable when sharing stories and a way of creating deeper connections with your audience. Sharing this statement to encourage you guys to build “more vulnerable” digital campaigns. Dig deeper than just product USP’s and artist’s backgrounds. Tell a full story and focus on those topics you wouldn’t normally share. 🧑🏻‍🔧 . . . . . . . #socialmediamarketing #socialmediatips #socialmediainsights #digitalmarketingtips #carpetdesign #ihaveathingwithfloors #art #artistsoninstagram #arty #carpetdesign #brafa #brafaartfair #tourettaxis #floordesign #vintagefeeling #flowerdress #boots #authenticity #vscogirl #igersbelgium #thisisbrussels #brussels #modernart

Painting is about the beauty of space and the power of containment. – Sam Francis. Last Friday at the opening of BRAFA Art Fair in Brussels. Lovely evening filled with a stunning selection of my fav, modern art. A yearly tradition with the fam that never gets old. Besides sharing my excitement about this year’s @brafaartfair, I wanted to talk about the importance of traditions. Attaching more importance to recurring activities lately. Why? Traditions, meet-ups and get-togethers with your inner circle, creates a sense of comfort and joy. Because these moments only occur at specific times, under specific circumstances, we often make emotional connections that only flare up once they've returned. Traditions help bring us together and build real connections. Providing us with experiences of shared values and mutual comfort. Spend more time with the people you love and keep participating traditions. 💐 . . . . #brafa #brafaartfair #brafa2020 #artfair #art #artgallery #artfair #samfrancis #samfrancisfoundation #nikkidesaintphalle #lookoftheday #styleseat #modernart #exposition #vintageclothing #flowerdress #tourettaxis #thisisbrussels #brussels #expressionism #artistsoninstagram #modernartgallery
