U P D A T E ↟ ↟ Hey friends, I'm writing today because I wanted to keep you posted on the shop and how we have been impacted by the current situation and COVID 19. As many of you have already noticed, we closed our shop a while ago. With the closure of the schools, I had to go from business owner mode to mom/teacher mode, and that has been my main focus over the past few weeks. We are taking it slow, and I'm doing my best to keep my kids smiling through all of this, but as a result I am unable to manage the shop. Many of the retailers I work with have closed their doors during this time as well, so it's been a big change all around. . I will still be in here on IG with some updates, including things I want to share with other parents as we navigate this as a family, and I do hope to re-open as soon as my kiddos are back in school. I will also be posting on our blog regularly, sharing freebies and some fun activities for you to share with your kids, which is a huge passion of mine. I am working on a really fun homeschool project template that I know you will love, so stay tuned for things like that in the coming weeks. . For now, I want to thank everyone who has supported this brand of ours over the years. It's been a true honour to be a smart part of your lives, seeing your littles in our clothing, receiving countless lovely emails from you, it's been a wonderful experience. We are not gone forever, and hopefully we will come back with some new and fun things to celebrate this all being behind us. . Stay safe everyone. Stay home. We love you all. Xoxo - The Duckworth Family ❤️
K I D S P R O J E C T I D E A ↟ ↟ If you ordered from us recently you might have noticed a tiny packet of wildflower seeds in your package. This is a perfect time to put them to use! And this is definitely a #stayhome friendly activity that can be a great way to teach children about nature (aka science class!!) . Loving this photo that @lkatsuno shared of her little one playing their seeds in repurposed egg cartons! Let us know if you’re starting your seeds now too! #thewildkidsapparel
O N T H E B L O G ↟ ↟ Like so many of you I am home entertaining my kiddos and will be doing so for the unforeseeable or future, which means I need allllll the boredom buster ideas. This is one we shared on our blog a while back but I thought it would be so perfect for anyone wanting to do an art project with your little ones. . Simply give your child a blank piece of paper and a pencil/crayon/marker and have them recreate our characters in their own way! Either use a tee or a toy that they already have, or pull up our ‘Meet The Wild’ page on our website and they can pick anyone they want to try! Super easy, free, and FUN!!! If you give this a try please tag us, we would love to see!!! #thewildkidsapparel
M O M N O T E S ↟ ↟ Ok. We're in it. We’re self-isolating. We're smiling in front our kiddos in the face of complete uncertainty. There is so much to think about, and now you have little ones home with you 24/7, while trying to work, while trying to somehow get groceries in a safe way, while trying to have a clean house for a minute or two, while worrying about your parents, grandparents, the doctors, the world. It's a LOT. . Parenting is hard on the easy days. Right now, you need to know that it is completely ok to get through this in whatever way works for you. Whatever way you need to that keeps your littles smiling. . If that means colourful academic schedules, do it. If that means backyard time for 8 hours a day, do it. If that means a combination of things to fill in those hours, do it. IT'S OK. . You know your kids more than anyone, and you know what they need to thrive, and to be happy. You also have to get through this too, and your happiness and mental health matters, because you're holding everyone in your home together. . None of us are pandemic experts around here (minus the scientists of course), but we are all pretty damn good parents. And we put our kids over and above ourselves every single day. And this is no different. . Whatever you are doing today with your children, as long as they are happy and feeling calm and good, then you're doing the right thing. Don't let anyone shame you for doing what you need to do to make this ok for you and your family. We’re in this together, and we need to give eachother all the grace and support to come out of this together ❤️ . #thewildkidsapparel #twmomnotes
T H O U G H T S ↟ ↟ So, truth time. With everything that’s going on right now in the world I’m finding it impossible to carry on here in this space as usual. I’m here in my home, following the guidelines of social distancing, trying to keep these two beautiful kiddos of mine smiling and engaged, but on the inside I’m feeling overwhelmed and panicked. These are strange, strange days. One moment I feel hopeful and ok, the next I’m fighting back tears. . Over the next little while I think my posts will be more sporadic than usual. I have a few things I want to share that I think could be helpful to keep your little ones occupied, but my usual shop updates probably will be mia for a while. It just doesn’t feel right, and I need to focus on my kids and making sure that they are feeling calm and happy. . The shop is still open for now, orders are being shipped, and I will keep you posted if anything changes. But for now, my fam is my focus. It’s just not business as usual, and I wanted to let you all know. . I truly am thinking of all of you right now. So many people in so many different walks of life, impacted in your own ways. I hope you are feeling ok, and that you’re healthy and safe. You have become friends to me, and I hope we can get through this together ❤️
C U R R E N T L Y ↟ ↟ Packing up orders this afternoon and I wanted to take a minute and check in with an update on what we are doing around here. Our family is self-isolating (as an introvert I kind of love it lol) and everyone in our home is healthy (YAY). My studio is kept very clean and I completely sanitize my hands before orders are packaged, just to be extra extra safe. Your health and safety is absolutely our top concern. . For those of you who have been ordering, please know that I am so grateful to you. This is undoubtedly going to have a big impact on this little business of ours as we depend so much on the support of our retailers, who are closing indefinitely for the most part. We are thinking of them and so grateful that they have taken this step, but it will impact us all for sure. So when my phone lights up with an order right now, it means the absolute world. . I also wanted to remind you that I put a list of fun things you can do with your kiddos during this time on the blog, please check the link in our profile and let us know if you have any other ideas!! . Stay safe friends, and stay home ✌️❤️
O N T H E B L O G ↟ ↟ Parents, I've got you. On the blog today I have posted a master list of things you can do with your kiddos while we are all doing our part and practicing social distancing (linked in profile). Feel free to give me your suggestions and I will keep adding to this list! I will be right here with you, trying to keep my guys entertained for the next three weeks while also trying to (somehow) get my work done, lol. We've got this! . #thewildkidsapparel #momlife
M O M N O T E S ↟ ↟ All jokes aside, this is a scary time for everyone, the media is throwing many of us into an anxiety spiral, and I just want to pop in and say I’m here with you, worried too, taking the precautions, one day at a time. In Ontario, like many places, our schools are being closed for three weeks, so I'm working on a little blog post of ideas of things to do with your kiddos that don't involve any public places (my boys and I started a list last night, which is my first activity suggestion, ha ha!). I'll share it asap, but in the meantime, lets all agree to lead with empathy. Think of others, and do your best to stay safe. And hey, if you need a break from IG/FB/EVERYTHING, that's ok too. ❤️
I N T H E S H O P ↟ ↟ In case you missed it, our new goodies launched last night! This restock included our new characters and our Easter Bags, which are almost GONE!! If you’re on the fence, grab one while you can! I’m going to try to do another restock of these but I may run out of time, so this could be it for them this year!!! Do you have yours yet??? 🐰🌸💕 . #thewildkidsapparel #easter
