2020 = perfect vision ✨🌙 ☀️ This year, I prayed for clarity. And now... I think the whole world is seeing the (their) truth. Quarantine has unveiled issues brushed under the rug for decades (social inequality, racism, environmental issues, animal cruelty, tragedy and more) all coming to light. They say you can’t heal wounds you cannot see right? As for me... right when I thought things couldn’t get worse, The Universe has chosen to send me one last lesson. A big opportunity to truly awaken and heal. Trusting every trigger and sign sent my way, I have made the bold decision to disconnect and live this part of my journey in private... For 7 years, I have publicly shared my story to inspire others, and the support I received in return not only uplifted me, but allowed me to build a dream team of friends (family), healers, soul sisters, whom I would have never met otherwise. Each one, a small piece of my puzzle required to complete the big picture I see so clearly. Right now, as I rise through this hump, my spirit craves to simply BE, as I slowly Rebuild. Recover. Live. For me. All I need from you, is to trust that I am well 💛✨🌙 I promise I’ll be back... with one heavenly story to tell... But for now, I thank you for your understanding, your prayers, your love and above all, your faith. I love you, Nalie #thediaryofnalie
This recipe reminds me of my Dad ♥️ He used to juice it for me when I was sick in bed and promised it would give me energy! He’d knock at my door and say I made you some “ABCs”, with a proud smile. That alone was enough to heal me. Recipe/Ratio: 1 Apple 2 Beets 3 Carrots I like to add a bit of Ginger (in everything really...) to spice it up. Beets are a great source of potassium and can help with fatigue, weakness and muscle cramps. Beets can have an earthy taste (which I’ve learned to strangely love) but the apples & carrots 🍎🥕sweeten it up perfectly while adding its own special benefits! #naliessecrets #juicewithnalie #wellness #beetjuice #ABC
What a rough weekend... Maybe it’s because I was approaching the end of my first Xeloda cycle and my body is going through a crazy transition. Maybe it’s because it’s May and it’s cold and gloomy. Maybe because it was Mother’s Day and I couldn’t do something as simple as be with my family. Maybe it’s because we’ve been quarantined for 9 weeks... Whatever it was, it’s been hard. I’ve spent most my days sleeping because my head feels like it’s too heavy for my neck and I can barely keep my eyes open. But what’s made it even harder... is how HARD I’ve been on myself. “You’re not supposed to have side effects, you never do. Why are you so weak? You’re supposed to be strong. Cmon you’ve been through a lot worse.. suck it up, Nalie” (If you could only hear the tone I terribly used to speak to myself)... This negative self-talk made my head even heavier. Knowing fresh air & movement would help, I finally mustered the strength to go for a long walk. On my way towards the path I always take, a jogger zoomed by me... 🏃🏾♀️”Woah Maybe I should be jogging too. Urgh I’m already tired from walking. How pathetic. Remember when you used to be able to run fast... what happened to you?” And that’s when I yelled “ENOUGH!!!” I had to stop and give myself a speech... “the fact that you even went outside today after barely being able to get out of bed is HUGE! Just stop! This walk is enough, YOU are enough. Inhale. Relax. Exhale. Enjoy!” On my way back, I continued to encourage myself. “Wow almost 4km. Goodjob! The fresh air feels so good in my lungs. Thank you lungs! Thank you legs. Thank you body. Thank you for another day...” And just like that, I felt so much lighter. Self-criticism is the number one cause for headaches and can be way more painful than any side effect. Be mindful of the words you use with yourself. Be kind to yourself. 💕 It’s the only way to heal. This is what I’ll be working on this week... and maybe that’s enough too. #happymonday #thediaryofnalie
“How did my Mama do it?” 🤯 I’ve recently caught myself often asking this question. How on earth... did my Mom handle 3 active, creative (messy) kids with a full time job while volunteering for a Filipino female organization on nights and weekends. How did she manage to always have a home cooked dinner on the table every night? How did she bring us to baseball games, basketball practices and dance recitals while my Dad had to travel for several weeks for work? How did she not panic every time we got sick? How did she do it... Thankfully, since Justin was born, my grandma came to Canada to help raise us 💛 and I was cradled with double the motherly love... Still, my brothers and I were a handful... and let’s just say teenage Nalie wasn’t the easiest to handle (she screamed a lot 😳) And all I have now is a small dog with allergies wearing a cone and I have trouble feeding myself and keeping my little condo clean 😂 I can’t imagine Mothers who now have to add homeschooling to the list during quarantine 🤯... To all mothers, your hard work is unmeasurable and your sacrifices do not go unnoticed 🙏🏽✨ This world needs your nurturing, love & leadership more than ever... so thank you for everything you selflessly do. To my dear Mommy & Lola, thank you for making me feel like I can do anything, despite ALL. 💛🌸 I love you and miss you so much. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! 💛🌸✨#mothersday #mom #throwback

When you’ve been through A LOT in life… yet nothing stresses you out more than having to drop your puppy off at the vet ALONE due to COVID-19... 😩😢 Oh the look he gave me when they took him from my arms at the door... 💔 The good news is, it’s just allergies! The bad news is, he has to wear this cone for 2 weeks to stop him from licking his paws and scratching so his rashes heal. *sigh* not the Sombrero @drneoturbo had in mind for Cinco de Mayo 🇲🇽 BIG shout out to all Vets working hard during the pandemic to keep our fur babies safe. And sending SO much love to all patients currently alone at the hospital... including 4 legged ones 🐕🐈 I have a feeling I’m gonna be one paranoid Mom someday 🤦🏽♀️ I don’t know how you mamas do it! 💕 #cincodemayo #doggymamadrama #dogmom
