At about 28 meters down in “the pit” we reach a Hydrogen Sulfide Layer. It is a constant layer that is always there. Slowly we drift into this mystic fog. Trees and branches lay on the bottom giving the spooky feeling almost like a horror movie. We pass through the fog layer and enter back into the crystal-clear cenote water. Sometimes you come across more rare creatures. As far as I managed to find this looks like a Atlantic Pygmy Octopus. I might be wrong about this so if someone knows more about this please share. It was about 10 cm across and had no camouflage. It stayed pale like this all the time and did not seem too frightened by my presence.
