🙌 Happy long weekend WA! ☀day and new moon in libra ♎ Feelin all the feels today 😊
I was never a dancer or an acrobat or a ballarina.. So this has taken endless hours of practice, lots of sweat and raw elbows. And just to make it clear, being able to master a posture (asana) doesn't make you good at yoga! It doesn't really make you good at anything. A deeper meaning of asana - the Sanskrit word for a 'seat', is to be 'seated' in our nature - our peaceful and aware self. The true Lotus is not a pose we need to be able to do to reach Samadhi - the eternal state of bliss. It is in our hearts. We can be aware, present and still in any posture - standing, seated, running, swimming.. The only thing those more challenging asanas can give us, is make sure we center our full concentration into the breath and the present moment. That's where yoga beings. Being still. Being fully present.
Ahhhhhh 😌😌😌 Have you tried floating yet??? It is incredible 💙 So many benefits to a busy mind and achy body. Providing sersory deprivation to help calm the mind - taking away the sight, sound, smell, touch, gravity and letting you fully relax, epsom salts (magnesium) for all the physical benefits for sore muscles/joints, old injuries.. Anxciety, stress, arthrities, insomnia.. For me it is just this incredible feeling of nothingness and the peace and calm that follows. Kind of like coming out of savasana 😇 you yogis know what I mean 😅 @floatlabaus
You can always begin again 🙌 No matter how hard the past 💙 🙏 Join me on the mat this week Monday 7.15pm Slow Flow Wednesday 6am Hatha 6pm Yin Friday 6am Vinyasa @westcoastyogastudio Tuesday 6am Vinyasa Saturday 8am Vinyasa 9.30 Slow Flow @theyogaroomscarborough
Ok, not a the same time but you get the point 🍺😎 What a wicked day catching up with old friends @kristaoconnell 😘 . .
Yoga. This practice just humbles me beyond words. The positivity and community it creates just amazes me every time I step on the mat. Don't get me wrong, I have days when I am feeling shit, distracted, uninspired. But as a yoga teacher seeing first hand how it gives people confidence and puts a smile on their face just makes me so happy and makes me feel like I am really making a difference. Yoga really is for everybody. And it truly makes me believe that in a gentle way we can shake the world 😇🙏💚 Still to come this week Friday 6am Vinyasa @westcoastyogastudio Saturday 8am Vinyasa 9.30am Slow Flow @theyogaroomscarborough
