This post is quite timely, as the hubby and I are currently on a long-distance relationship. We may only be apart for a couple of months, but man, it really takes some getting used to. I miss him every day! 😭 . . I actually wrote about LDR’s on the blog (LINK IN BIO), and here’s a snippet from that article... . . “love, no matter how complicated it can be, works when you compromise and adjust to certain needs. You can also find pure happiness in loving someone when you start focusing on what's essential and great in that person despite their flaws. And if you can change the way you see the love in this light, then you will see love with much clarity. You can change the way you see long-distance love by staying focused on your goals together. So don’t feel hopeless about finding the right person for you because s/he will come at the right time. And if you have finally found your match, know that everything is going to be worth it. Because at the end of the day, finding 'the one' will definitely change the way you see love.” . . Are you in a long-distance relationship too? How’s your experience been like? Care to share? 🙈
In this day and age, an online influencer, for me, isn’t necessarily someone who has the best ranking stats (it’s not always quantified by the number of likes, followers and reach one has). ☘️☘️☘️ . . A real influencer, for me, shows you how to be the best version of yourself, and not push you to feel self-doubt. S/he teaches you to be authentic and true, and never competes with you despite the numbers game, filters and hypocrisy. S/he even encourages you to dream big and helps you live life much more learned and inspired. And s/he offers sound advice that many will actually benefit from. 👫👭 . . An online influencer may have the power to affect your decision-making based on his/her position/knowledge/authority. But a REAL ONE will genuinely guide you (and not just sell stuff to you), so that you trudge the right path to greatness. 💪💪💪 . . Whether off or online, find people who will influence and inspire you to live your best life. Better yet, be that person. 🌻🌻🌻 . . So, who inspires you? 🌷 Which influencers do you look up to? 🌞
“She’s been through hell and came out an angel. You didn’t break her, darling. You don’t own that kind of power.”
A lot has happened since I last posted. I can’t even begin to explain the intensity of it all. Though one thing’s for sure... I was tested to the very core of my being. I didn’t know how to bounce back from the pain that I was caused. I mean, how can people be so cruel and unjust? How can they sleep at night, knowing they’ve wronged and taken advantage of you? No matter how hard things were, I mustered the courage to walk away from the oppression and lies that hindered my growth. I got up on both feet and stood my ground. As I gained back that power and respect, I soon found myself smiling again. Lessons were learned. Respect should be earned. Your happiness and well-being is everything. Remember these, and you’ll survive this world.
Dear C... . I knew that when she left, our lives would change forever. It did. But we both knew that we'd be okay because we would always have each other. We learned to move past her absence and forgave her along the way. Our hearts were torn, but we've managed to pick up the pieces together. I know it wasn't easy, but we got through it. . . Just remember how our travels healed our broken souls. Remember the time we went to Baguio just to retrace our steps from when dad took us there for the first time? Or that time in Korea where we got lost in places (and translation) but managed to get past our fears? We relied on one another. We traversed unknown paths as a team as we’ve always done growing up. . And as I look back, I can't help but praise God for your love and strength. Thank you for assuring me that what we feel matters, and that what others say don’t. People will always talk anyway, so let them. You and I, our sentiments, and our dreams are what's more important. What we believe will always have a bearing. And as long as we have each other, we will be okay. ILY! ❤️🌹👫 #gratefulbiyahera
Dear MJ... . I don't know if I've said this enough, but thank you. Ever since I came to Dubai, you've been nothing but kind and generous to me. It's one of your best traits that I admire you so much for. You give without expecting anything in return, and you laugh and smile without caring what other people would think or feel. Your laugh is infectious, and your go-getter attitude towards life is inspiring. I could only wish to be as confident as you. . Thank you for being a great source of hope, especially when I was at my lowest point. You offered me a safe haven when I could no longer deal with my pain. Thank you for saying that I was brave for pushing through despite the odds, and for standing up for myself when things spiraled down. . . Thank you for being such a good and kind friend. I am thankful that we crossed paths in Malaysia 6 years ago. Thank you for being one of the real ones. ❤️ #gratefulbiyahera
Dear M... . I know your struggles are so real that sometimes, it makes you doubt your strengths, especially your self-worth. In spite of, I want you to know that things always get better through time. Remember that you've gone through worse and you've managed to survive every time. So don't ever lose hope. . Remember that you may have given up a lot of things just to be where you are today, and that's ok. You will always have the opportunity to birth new and wild ideas again, and turn your dreams and passions into reality. Just keep the faith. . Remember that the people who left you and wronged you, particularly those who didn't appreciate your truths, are replaceable. You are worth it in every sense. You are loved. You are valued by those who matter. . Remember that everything in life evolves, as you do. So thank you for moving forward despite life's challenges. Thank you for fighting, trying and hoping. God loves you. #gratefulbiyahera #cabinzero
Dear K. E., . You gave me the gift of travel and introduced its wonders to me. It's also through you that I started to appreciate the value of effective planning, budgeting and exploring. But other than these life necessities, I loved that you shared your time with me. You taught me that nobody is ever busy because if they cared, they will make time. So thank you for always being present in the moment. Thank you for loving without conditions and giving without restrictions. Thank you, Kuya. ❤️ #gratefulbiyahera
Dear, S... . . I've always been drawn to you, your silly laugh, your hysterical cries, and your crazy antics. For a little fellow, you’re smart beyond your age. You've always been curious, and you get things your way, which is fine most times. But you know what? If I could give the world to you, I would. I will. I knew I fell in love again the moment you were born. I never thought I could love someone as much as I love/d you, and I am thankful every day that you were born to bring light and joy to us. . I pray, one day, that we'll be reunited again. We'll hug and kiss, and share stories of our journeys as if we were never apart. We'll travel like we used to, and I'll finally see you dip your toes in the sand and not squirm at the thought of it getting into your feet. . Thank you for being my source of happiness. Auntie loves you. #gratefulbiyahera
When I started reading John Kralik's book (A Simple Act of Gratitude), I felt inspired to trudge the same path. In my mind, there were countless people to thank throughout my journey. But I didn't know how to start or who to start with. Then it came to me. I needed to start with the one who my soul breathes for... . Dear R... You have always been my ultimate destination, the type you tick off of the bucket list when you've finally reached it, and would want to revisit and do over and over again. You're an adrenaline rush - the kind of high that you get from skydiving or bungee jumping - even though I've never done either. Saying yes to you and choosing a life with you were some of the best decisions that I've made. Our life together, no matter how challenging it has been, will always be one of my greatest adventures. Thank you for allowing me to see the world with you by my side. There's no other place I'd rather be. #gratefulbiyahera
