In one of my latest posts I touched on how there are many ways we can improve our overall health without it costing a thing - just a bit of our time and attention. Today I‘d like to speak on the subject and science behind “grounding” or “earthing therapy”. I’ve always been one to love walking barefoot in nature because of the way it makes me feel - a sort of sense of freedom and connectivity to earth. It wasn’t until now that I discovered the science behind grounding and it’s benefits. 🜃 As I’ve expressed before, I love when science gives validity to a “spiritual” belief or practice. This soundness gives more reason to practice such rituals! 🜃 Simply put, the earth has its own electromagnetic field, as do our bodies. When our bare feet connect to the earth, potent antioxidants - in the form of free electrons - are released into our bodies. This provides our bodies with a range of healing effects including the clearing of damaging and disease-causing free radicals, decreasing inflammation, increasing energy levels, and offering beneficial changes to your heart rate. 🜃 To experience significant changes in your health, sit or walk with your bare feet on the earth for at least 40 minutes per day! 🜃 According to biophysicist James Oschman, “Earthing is the easiest and most profound lifestyle change you give to yourself.” So the next time someone asks you why you aren’t wearing shoes you can tell them that the earth’s electrons are healing your body and ask them to join you! Side note: If the weather conditions or other factors are preventing you to do this there are alternatives such as grounding shoes, mats, and sheets you can invest in.
They say the best things in life are free and I believe that now more than ever. Last night I was feeling emotional about what’s happening in world right now. Not just relating to the virus but also the way our society is. I’m recognizing how important it is to really take our overall health into our own hands, especially as we live in a society that creates an intense amount of stress, fear, and confusion when it comes to nutrition. In the midst of the hectic busy lives we live, sometimes we forget to take care of the very thing that keeps us alive, our bodies, and to top it off we are destroying another important ‘organ’ that keeps us alive, the earth. This morning I sat outside while I studied my reading materials for my holistic nutrition course. I’m acknowledging that a lot of things that feed our health (besides food) are simple, free, and just require a little bit of our time and attention. For example, simply being outside for an hour in the sun everyday is vitally important for our overall health. During this time of self isolation remember to get outside and take some deep breaths; give yourself some fresh air and vitamin D from sunlight to keep your body and mind strong, and your energy light. Just being 🌿 What’s everyone been getting up to these days? We counted the days we travelled last year - the total was 262 days. Self isolation has been an opportunity to slow down the pace. 🐢 We’ve been taking this time to catch up on house projects, get creative, meditate, drink wine, workout, dance, cook, read, find new music, learn new things, just hang chat and laugh, talk with family/friends, put ideas in motion, and allow more time to just be. 😋✌🏽 #staypositive #stayhome #staysafe #covid_19 🏠

In this present time of fear that seems to be overcoming the globe, I think it is a perfect opportunity to calm our minds, slow the pace, go within and be in the moment. We spend a lot of time thinking about our to do list, stressing, focusing on time, always residing our minds in the future or the past. 🌀 The magic that the quantum field holds is in the present moment, where all opportunity exists. 🌀 This is a perfect time to really connect to your roots, ground yourself, become INSPIRED. Observe the life you’re living, what habits do you want to change? Focus on whats really important in life. This mindset is much better than a mind full of fear, which creates an unhealthy environment within you and weakens your immune system. So please, just chill 😌👌🏽 and stop fighting over toilet paper. 🙏🏽

Choosing to be gentle means being free from violence, bullying, and hate. When individuals display harsh behaviour they are coming from a place of weakness. Their shortcoming leads them to attempt to control, manipulate, overpower, condescend, criticize, demean, and so on. When you’re authentically gentle, you’re not looking to gain power over someone or something, you’re just you, being you, at your best, at your happiest, your most supportive, most giving, most inspired self. So the next time you feel like someone is bullying you, instead of retaliating and stooping down to their level of weakness, just remember they are likely merely projecting the way they feel about themselves onto you; they are projecting their weakness. I generally feel sorry for the people who spend their lives trying to make others feel badly about themselves, when they should be looking within themselves to discover what is causing them to behave that way, and dealing with fixing that part of them. The world is a quantum field that we are all connected to. The more your bring people up and the more positive you are in general, the more you bring up the vibration of everything around you, including yourself. 🌺 #bekind #begentle
