TIGHT GLUTES?! 😫 SAVE these beginner #yoga poses to help relieve some pain! Do this to start your day, as a warm-up before your workout, or even before bed! Make sure to double tap🖤 & tag a friend who needs this! 🙌🏽 ⠀ 🧘🏻♀️Pose 1: Pigeon Pose Keep the hips square & chest open! As far as your upper body goes, feel free to stay upright but If you need more, try bringing elbows down to the floor or even creating a ‘head rest’ with your hands and fold all the way forward. ⠀ 🧘🏻♀️Pose 2: Modification to Pigeon Pose! Use a massage table or counter to help with this pose! You can then intensify the stretch by moving your back foot back as far as you want! ⠀ 🧘🏻♀️Pose 3: Seated Figure Four Stretch This is also a modification to pigeon! Sit with the left knee bent towards your chest and the foot on the floor as close to your glutes as possible (the closer it is, the deeper the stretch!) Cross right ankle over left thigh. Stay here for about 30 secs and switch! Make sure to keep your chest nice and open here! Also, I find that when I flex my bottom foot, I feel it a little deeper! ⠀ 🧘🏻♀️Pose 4: Cradle the Baby Hold your leg like you would a baby between the creases of your arm (play around with it until it feels comfy for you). Rock side to side to find that best stretch! Keep that chest open and if you’re lacking flexibility here, use hands to cradle your leg and don’t lift it as high! ⠀ 🧘🏻♀️ Pose 5: Fire Log Cross your right leg so your shin is parallel with the front of your mat and cross your left leg and place your shin directly on top of your right shin so your ankle rests on your knee. Keeping both feet flexed and shins stacked, hinge forward from your waist and fold out over your legs, holding for about 30secs! Good morning, friends! I was in a bit of funk this weekend. It feels like its just been like this for a really long time. Like this has been the looonnggeesstt season for me. Some days, I feel like I'm super aligned but then others, I'm questioning every decision I make. Questioning if I'm even doing what I'm supposed to be doing. Am I carrying out what God has put over my life? ⠀ I've been going through a lot of personal trials lately and I read this post yesterday that gave me some peace & I wanted to share it with you in case anyone else is going through something similar. It said something to the affect of that while this season may be hard and may be constantly testing me, its just not about me. It said that this season will be USED by God to TEACH ME, to TRAIN ME and to HELP OTHERS. And that was just like a slap in the face because it just put things in perspective for me. While I may not know what I'm supposed to be doing with my life, I know that I want to help others and if what I'm going through helps others in any way, I've done my part. ⠀ I encourage you to take some time today to pray and ask God to show you His Will in your life. It's not an easy prayer (personally) but I'm just so dang tired of doing things my way. If there's one thing I've learned is that we can't do it alone so what will happen if we surrender to Him and go all in? ⠀ I'm going into this week knowing that God ALWAYS has my back. And same goes for you- He's protecting you every step of the way and you can be sure that He is setting things in motion for you, too. I've always been told that I'm ‘too much’ of something. ⠀ Too tall. Too loud. Too expressive. Too big. Just...too much. ⠀ & i think because of that, it's taught me to play pretty small my entire life. From the outside looking in, it may seem like I take these huge risks or I love to 'take up room' & make myself known but the truth is, it terrifies me. I didn't even realize until this past weekend, but I even pray small! And while thats a whole different post, it really put things in perspective for me and I haven't been able to shake it. ⠀ How many of us play small? Almost as if we feel like we don't deserve the "FULL" thing so we say things like "I know I'm not as qualified as X but if I could only get Y, I'll be good with that" 🤯 WHY DO WE DO THAT?! and while I know that this may not make sense to some, there are others of you who know exactly what I'm talking about. ⠀ play small, receive small. PLAY BIG, GET BIG. ⠀ I'm determined to change my patterns and start playing big because lets think about it: if we've been blessed with this much by playing small, imagine what would happen if we finally lived in our truth and played big. & I know that this won't change overnight but boy, am I ready.
