@hillaryclinton was spot on in 2016 when she correctly predicted what would happen if we elected @realdonaldtrump. Ravaged by a pandemic, we are heading towards a full-fledged race war, and are in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, with 40 million unemployed. We need an empathetic leader who will lift us up and unite us in our grief, not exploit our pain and our divisions. We need someone who will say the opposite of what he said today, “You have to dominate. If you don’t dominate, you’re wasting your time — they’re going to run over you, you’re going to look like a bunch of jerks.” The world is watching and protesting in support of the society that we have the potential to become. It’s up to us to take our country back. #nojusticenopeace #vote

I'm tired of hearing (mostly white) people complaining about their neighborhoods (mine included) being burned. Instead of focusing on the how, let's focus on the WHY. It's no coincidence that this is happening during the final year of @realdonaldtrump's first --and hopefully last-- term in office, & in the middle of a pandemic. He and the GOP (aka White Power Party) have purposely, repeatedly and calculatedly exacerbated tensions with their racist rhetoric and policies. In 250 years, POC's are still second class citizens in their own country. They are executed for the color of their skin, by the police, the very people who are supposed to serve & protect. As a white man, my worst fear when dealing with cops has been how to talk myself out of a speeding ticket. How many of us can relate to worrying about whether their loved ones will come back alive when they go out for a jog or to buy a candy bar? It's also no coincidence the people of color are getting sick with & dying from COVID at alarmingly higher rates because they don't have access to the same resources as white communities and in certain cases, are being turned away from hospitals while exhibiting symptoms. Meanwhile, our "President" sends racist tweets and empowers white supremicist groups to be more visible and vocal with their hateful messages. He has encouraged and supported the mostly white people who violently stormed state capitols with assault weapons to protest the stay at home orders. I wonder how he and the federal government would have responded if it were predominantly POC's protesting in their place. I have been blissfully unaware of my own privilege for most of my life. It wasn't until I became close friends with POC's that I learned about their life experiences and fears, and how their reality was very different from mine. So while I'm sad to see my city burn, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to take if it means that my POC brothers and sisters are finally seen and heard. We may just have to tear down this old, broken structure in order to build a new one that is more fair and just for everyone. #blacklivesmatter #nojusticenopeace
To my POC brothers and sisters: you are not alone. @michaelbbeckwith says that we were given two ears and one mouth for a reason. It’s time to start listening with our hearts and thinking before we speak. These moments and conversations may be uncomfortable, but we need to step into them and walk through them in order to create a more equal and just culture, country and society. Today and every day, I stand with you. I see you, I feel you and most of all, I hear you. 🖤#blacklivesmatter #justiceforgeorgefloyd #justiceforahmaud
Simply the best😍. This was @randimolofsky & I at @by_couture last year, getting ready for our first night out. I know we are both terribly missing it this year. 😔 What you don’t see is me trying to mask my sadness after having been laid off shortly before. Randi & @necessaryexcess jumped at the opportunity to hire me to work at the @for_future_reference booth, lifting me up and paying me when I wasn’t at my best. 🙏🏼 That’s the thing about Randi. She is kind, generous and thoughtful. She’s my #1 partner in crime, HR director, stylist, flea market date, sober companion 😉, matchmaker, disco diva, therapist and overall, my greatest cheerleader. I should probably put her on retainer but for some reason she keeps doing it for free. 🤷🏻♂️😘 I know this is not how you wanted to celebrate your birthday, but when the world hits bottom, the only way to go is up. Next year we’ll be sipping martinis at the Tower Suites bar, playing with fine jewels and their purveyors. 💎 HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Love you ❤️

Happy Birthday @franco_americano! Every piece of your art is a prayer for the world. We are all better for seeing life through your eyes. 💙👨🏻🎨🌎✨

Happy Birthday to a man who always does his best in every moment, every circumstance and with every human he encounters (whether they deserve it or not). And yet if you try to fuck with him, he will put you in place without you even realizing it because he’s a master at the art of shade. I see you @laynes11 and I love you 👀💙🍾🥳
Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful Mama & Happy Birthday to my equally gorgeous Big Sis! I wouldn’t be who I am today without the strong women in my life. ❤️❤️💐🌈 This pic was taken a few years back when we retraced our roots in the old country. It was an eye-opening adventure. I remember telling my parents, “thank God you got the hell out of this corrupt, conservative, ass-backwards country.” Never in a million years would we have predicted the current state of our union 🥀🙏🏼🤯
