Hopefully going to pick this up after my Twilight reread! I managed to buy this baby for $4 from some random news agency that I walked past a few weeks ago. Love a good bargain!
In a time of anxiety and uncertainty... I think it’s time we bring out the big guns 🍎 This series (although a lot cringier and problematic now that I’m older) is such a comfort to me when I’m feeling anxious. I’ve reread it whilst going through a breakup, when I’ve been struggling with my mental health, when I’ve been in a reading slump that feels impossible to get out of... the physical book and the story itself are so familiar and comfortable and nostalgic to me. I pick them up and instantly remember every feeling and emotion that my 14 year old self had when I was reading them for the first time. (It’s also a bonus that the pages are getting older and yellowing now so they smell amazinggggg) So if you’re feeling anxious or overwhelmed from the state of the world and have no motivation to pick up a book, try picking up an old favourite! It may be a cringe fest from start to finish but immersing yourself in familiarity is a great comfort! Consider it a long awaited hug from an old friend 📖
Book 2 on my ✨ Self-isolation TBR ✨ I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this book so I’m suuuuper excited to finally be picking it up! Have you read All The Light We Cannot See? What did you think? Let me know below! 🤍
✨ Self-isolation Reads ✨ Started this the other night and I’m LOVING it so far! Excited to make a start on my massive tbr during self-isolation 📚 I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe during this global crisis ♥️ Remember to take care of yourself, your mental health and each other. Stay indoors, reduce your contact with other people, keep educated and informed but not overwhelmed. We’re all in this together 🌏 Sending nothing but love and positive energy to you all 🌈 EDIT: Finished this book and loved it! 4/5 ⭐️
Currently reading 🌿✨
I finished reading Red Rising this morning! I’ve had this book on my shelves for years but was always hesitant on picking it up in case it didn’t live up to the hype... it does! So glad I finally decided to give it a go and can’t wait to read the rest of the series 📚 4.5/5 ⭐️
LIFE UPDATE ✨ (it’s a bit long so bear with me) Sorry I’ve been so quiet on here for the past month! I’ve had a lot going on with family and work that’s caused me a lot anxiety which has made me unintentionally distance myself from everyone and everything. I also had a birthday recently which means it’s time for my annual existential crisis 🙃 obvi this doesn’t help with my anxiety and it definitely makes it more difficult for me to feel motivated and stay in contact with people/post regularly. I’ve also decided to go back to uni to do my Masters in Human Rights and while I’m EXTREMELY excited for it, the upcoming study and work load is stressing me out already. Because of this I’ve decided to take a hiatus from this account. I might post on here occasionally when I get new books and things but for the most part I won’t be posting. I love you guys so much and I’m so happy to be a part of this community and I hope I can start posting regularly again soon 💗
Do you ever get so overtired that you become delusionally happy bc same . I finished this a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised! I knew that this book was super popular but didn't really know what it was about going into it and sometimes that's the best way to read a book imo ✨
It's been raining non-stop in Perth for the past couple of days and I'm loving it 🌧📖 . #rupikaur #thesunandherflowers
