thank you to all DJ’s and especially to @leungmanlai for always supporting local indie music; i suck at writing words but honestly i just wanna say i really appreciate everyone who has shown support and listened or shared the song in the past 2 months 🙏🏻 it’s been almost 1.5 years since the first demo of ‘gone’ was written and the song would not have been made possible without the beautiful full arrangement from my favourite collaborator @sonicheng / it’s also the first time i worked with a mixing engineer from overseas when @virtueandvicestudios was kind enough to help me with the wonderful mixing to create that dreamy ambient sound / through the making of ‘gone’ i also got to meet the talented @chouyi from taipei who drew one of my favourite cover artworks ever / and @sigmaryuki who helped me film a very spontaneous and fun music video across the streets of tokyo last summer (thank you @superuitan_yuitateno for the introduction!) thank you to you all who’s helped contributing to this song and i hope we can all collaborate soon again x

🥀 ‘gone’ was written during a trip in tokyo winter 2018, then the song was completed with production and mixing around april time the following year. it was originally meant for release last summer but it just didn’t feel right to put out any new music during that time in hong kong. so in fact i’ve kinda had the song sitting on my laptop for almost 2 years and the feeling of it finally being released last week was a nerve-wracking one; it’s the same feeling of excitement & nervousness for almost every other songs that i’ve put out in the past but especially for this one, since i’ve heard the final mix so many times on my own for the past year, and to finally let go of the song to public was a huge relief to say the least. this is the original artwork cover sketch done by the wonderful and talented @chouyi from taipei, i love the artwork for the song and i think lots of friends do too, thank you chou yi! also thanks to everyone who has shown support and love for the song 🙏🏻 #gone
