Here’s 5 of my all time favourite photos from Bali… 1. A tourist braces for an incoming wave on Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida. 2. Cabbage farmers take a cigarette break after loading their truck in Bayung Gede, Kintamani. 3. A young man heads out for a glorious sunrise drive in Selat, Karangasem. 4. Adorned in traditional clothing, a man traverses the terraces surrounding his house in Selat, Karangasem. 5. A salt farmer awaits smaller waves in order to refill her baskets with seawater in Kusamba, Klungkung. Let me know if you’d be keen on more series like this going forward, and have a great day! 🌊🍃
My Vietnam Photography Workshop for 2024 is open for bookings! Join me from June 22nd-30th 2024 on an incredible adventure through North and Central Vietnam, where you'll discover some of my favourite photography locations including the lotus ponds of Hanoi, lychee harvest of Bac Giang, and the coastal fishing villages of Qui Nhon. There are only 4/8 places remaining, so if you’re looking to visit Vietnam and learn the ins and outs of storytelling through photography and editing from me in person, then this is for you. Check the link in my bio for more info, and if you have any questions, let me know in the comments below! 👨🏾🌾🪷
A few aerial frames from a morning shift at this plywood factory near Thac Ba Lake, north Vietnam. Fun fact: shortly after finishing the shoot just a few weeks ago with the workshop group, police arrived on scene and asked us to leave the area 👨🏾🌾🪵
The rice terraces of Mu Cang Chai stretch as far as the eye can see, and in my opinion are some of the most picturesque in the world. Earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to capture this Hmong villager tending to her terraces in preparation for the upcoming planting season. If you’re keen to join me in Vietnam next year, DM me “WORKSHOP” and I’ll be in touch with the details very soon! 👩🏾🌾🌾
The annual lychee harvest in Bac Giang province sees thousands of farmers engaged in mile-long traffic jams throughout the region. It’s one of the most unique and fascinating scenes to photograph in Vietnam, so much so that I’ll be taking my next workshop group here… More details on that to come in the next few days. Stay tuned! 🪖🍒
The conical hat’s cultural significance in Southeast Asia is multifaceted, ranging from practicality and protection from the elements to its role as a symbol of identity, tradition, and resistance. Not only that, but they sure do help to highlight any subjects you’re photographing should they be wearing one… 👩🏾🌾⛰️
Coastal sessions with the #DJIAir3. A few months back, I had the pleasure of testing out the latest addition to the Air series on the south coast of the U.K., and it didn’t disappoint! The Air 3 comes with an integrated wide-angle 1/1.3-inch-CMOS camera and a 3x medium telephoto camera, allowing you to get more creative with your aerial compositions than ever before 🏖️ 🌊 @djiglobal #DJI #drone
This moody morning in the hills of Mu Cang Chai was one for the books. This is the first of many photos I’ll be sharing from my recent (and unforgettable) photography workshop in Vietnam! Feeling grateful for the wonderful group that joined me for this adventure - the laughter, shared passion, and unbelievable conditions throughout made it a trip to remember. Who’s going to join me in 2024? 👩🏾🌾🌾
Lombok boasts all forms of natural beauty including its pristine white-sand beaches, majestic volcanic landscapes, and smiling faces to name a few. Here’s a few of my favourite aerials from the island in recent years. Which one is your favourite?! 🐃🌋
Engulfed in billowy clouds of hazardous sulphur fumes, Kawah Ijen is simultaneously majestic and terrifying. I’ve shared plenty of work from within the mines of Kawah Ijen in recent months, so figured it was about time I posted an aerial view capturing the landscape in which it’s found 🌋☁️
The #DJIAir3 introduces a cutting-edge dual-primary camera setup, which was perfect for my recent trip to Thailand. It integrates a wide-angle 1/1.3-inch-CMOS camera and a 3x medium telephoto camera which delivers consistent image quality and even more dynamic range than before, which are things we love to see! Not only that, but the 46 minutes of flight time is a wild 48% increase compared to the previous generation, and you know what that means… plenty of time to explore, adjust for that perfect composition, and nail the shots you want, all during a single flight 🏢🚁 @djiglobal #DJI #drone
As artists, it's not uncommon to find ourselves in a constant state of yearning for more. While capturing this simple scene of a seaweed farmer in Nusa Penida, I found myself wondering how the shot would feel if there were huge piles of seaweed as opposed to it being flat, or perhaps if there were multiple farmers instead of just the one… While I try to embrace the beauty of the shot I’ve taken, I’m simultaneously drawn to the idea of capturing those unfulfilled visions sometime in the future. I guess that’s just a part of what propels us on our endless quest for that perfect shot, right? 👩🏾🌾🦠
