real happiness in Monteverde 🍊🇨🇷☀️
the positive part of 2020 🇨🇷🌅🏄🏽♀️
a new year round up 🧘🏽♀️ Last year I did a 2019 round up, I will look back at it always as a year of successes, adventures and happiness. This year however I will try to look at as a year of slowing down, turning inwards, and simplifying. In 2020 I lost all my direction, I had to leave my life in Costa Rica, I lost the job I had lined up for a summer in Greece, I moved back in with my parents, I spent months and months trying and failing to find work, I worked tirelessly as a yoga teacher and fitness instructor (sometimes for free) aiming to build my own business just as a way to find income and hope, my mental health hit a big low and I had to work so hard to survive it, my depression and anxiety worsened after a couple years of solid improvement which was another blow. I finally got a part time job to work alongside my freelance jobs in October, only for us to go into lockdown in November meaning I wasn't entitled to furlough. And today I have been dealt the final blow of 2020, finding out that I am still not eligible for furlough as the cut off date has not been changed since last lockdown, despite having returned to work. I am desperate to continue the life I desire so much, and it's hard being unable to right now. But putting my life on hold has also held some positives. I have learnt to love myself more and be more protective of my own feelings and more aware of people with bad intentions. I have been able to take care of my own physical health in a way I haven't been able to before, taking up road cycling, doing more of my own yoga practise, and even some running 🤮 I have done an excessive amount of artwork, and even sold some pieces, which I would never have time for if my life had gone to plan 🎨 I got to spend time with friends and family who I would not have seen if my travel plans were possible. I started my freelance yoga teaching and fitness instructing, and for the first time in my career have gained regular clients (not cos I'm shit but because I work in hotels lol) and been able to help them much more 🙏🏼 I overcame so many obstacles; teaching online, outdoors and socially distanced 😷 I hand decorated my (continued in comments) ...
