Can you believe it’s been nearly 6 weeks since hairdressers have been closed ? 😱😳 And we still have another 6 weeks to go... (hopefully) If you had of told me this time last year that hairdressers would be forced to shut their doors for 4 months I would of laughed in your face.... So here’s to another 6 weeks of embracing our natural beauty ladies... 😭🙄😂 #hairbyjesslewis

💫HAVE YOU EVER SAID TO YOUR HAIRDRESSER “ I want my hair like this? See how it’s got those soft mixed tones & looks natural and has that dimensional blonde look? “💫 I know Ive heard this 10000 times. So here’s a little education for you. Did you know how I achieve this colour on this hair ? With a 1/2 head of blonde baby lights + a deeper toner, and that’s it. And you see those deeper, natural, soft, dimensional tones ? Yep, that is created with her natural colour. This client is one of those lucky ones that has the ultimate natural colour to create colours like this. Sure, you could create this colour by adding deeper foils with a tint/semi BUT it’s artificial & unfortunately when using tints to create a result thats created with natural colour, with an artificial colour doesn’t always work. Unfortunately tints can fade out, go brassy or fade out to be a colour you definitely don’t like, this isn’t to say if a stylist uses a lowlight artificially to create a deeper colour it’s wrong BUT when you look at colours that are created with a clients natural colour, creating them artificially can be hard work. This client only colours her hair every 4ish months because the grow out is a lot softer due to allowing her natural colour to come through more and the more natural she allows to grow down, means we can give her this mixed toned look when she comes in for her colour. Then you’ve got so many other things to consider.Your natural colour.Your hair condition.Your hair type. Your hairs tone. For example - I’m naturally blonde, so if I wanted this, sure I could add in some deeper foils & then after 2 weeks it would fade out & go orange, trust me I know,I’ve tried it 😂 If your natural colour is darker than this and you add in a foil at the same level as this clients natural colour, it would go brassy / warm. If your hair is brittle, dry, or damaged and you added a deeper foil, it will either go mercy OR grab and go nearly black. THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS TO CONSIDER when you are wanting to create a results that created by using someone’s natural colour. Be sure to educate yourself + find yourself a hairdresser that will educate you too. #hairbyjesslewis

💫 HBJL CLIENTS 💫 So we have tried so much to be super informative via our insta stories explaining how we are handing the latest announcements with hair salons not being able to open ( best case scenario ) October 26th, but we understand not everyone may watch them or listen to them with sound soooo, we sent out a text to every client with an appointment between now and October 26th explaining in detail how we are handling this situation and your appointments, as well as now, this post 💁🏼‍♀️ We ask that our clients try their best to keep up to date via our @hairbyjesslewis Instagram as we ALWAYS POST ALL UPDATES ON HERE & unfortunately constantly contacting hundreds of clients every time we have an update to announce is a little impossible, so we please ask that you all try and stay as updated as possible via our Instagram. So incase you missed it ( sorry I know I sound like a broken record but unfortunately some have missed our updates ) if you have an appointment between NOW AND OCTOBER 26TH this appointment is now cancelled. We are potentially meant to re open on October 26th but won’t know an exact date until we are closer to that time. With this being said, WE ARE NOT REBOOKING ANY APPOINTMENTS that have been forced to be cancelled between now and the 26th of October. The reason for this is 1. We don’t have a set we open date + 2. We are nearly booked for 2020 so unfortunately fitting 12 weeks worth of clients back into the appointment book, which then leads into our busiest time of the year with clients that have already pre booked 6/12 months in advance, unfortunately means we wouldn’t be able to fit everyone back in that would of missed their appointments due to lockdown. A lot of you already have November + December appointments booked which is amazing & they will remain the same. Please know, yes there will be some random appointments available when we reopen BUT unfortunately if you are interested in these ( WHEN WE TAKE BOOKINGS AGAIN ) you will need to be super flexible with what appointments may be left. But again, we won’t be able to accommodate for everyone. I hope you all understand, any further Qs feel free to txt us. ❤️ HBJL TEAM.

A little change up from a hair photo 🤰 While being forced to close our doors for the past 6 weeks & still no set date on when we can re open ( we find out this Sunday what restrictions are being lifted so let’s pray we can re open ASAP ) has sucked, iv been able to spend extra time with my crazy 6 year old whilst growing another human. I’ve always worked my absolute guts out, so to be forced to pretty much “not work” during this pandemic has been a blessing, not saying I want to be in lockdown another minute longer 😂, but to spend extra quality time with Ava & to grow a baby and be able to relax at home is such a blessing. Unfortunately as a business owner and a working mum, being pregnant isn’t always easy. It’s draining, exhausting and stressful. You feel sick? Too bad, your business doesn’t stop. You feel tired ? Too bad, you can’t be a sloth at home, your business doesn’t stop. You really don’t feel like standing on your feet for 12 hours whilst ending up with cankles from holding extra kg of baby weight and standing up all day, too bad, your business doesn’t stop. But then, 5 weeks ago my business did stop 🤷🏼‍♀️ So here’s to me being grateful iv been able to take care of myself during my last trimester, something I never thought I could do. In saying all this, whilst for me Mentally and physically the breaks been amazing, I am DYING for our doors at HBJL to re open ( I’m on maternity leave now so I won’t be working until December ) , my girls need it. They need their routine back. The salon isn’t just a work place, it’s a second home to myself and my 6 girls. So here’s to praying our doors re open soon and let’s also pray I’m not pregnant for too much longer because I’m dying for you all to meet her 💕 #hairbyjesslewis
