Fresh uni | ~HKD 480 Daily special from @kona_hk, Hokkaido fresh sea urchin was ultra fresh and only had limited supply daily. If you are a uni fan, this is definitely worth it!😋 Address🏠: G/F, 16 Lin Fa Kung Street West, Tai Hang #foodielovebirds_taihang #foodielovebirds_japanese

Wagyu beef bowl | HKD 168 Just look at this mouth-watering rice bowl!! A perfect combination of Wagyu beef and truffle, this dish from @kona_hk is both Instagram-friendly and filling. Address🏠: G/F, 16 Lin Fa Kung Street West, Tai Hang #foodielovebirds_taihang #foodielovebirds_japanese

Izakaya | ~HKD 400/pax @kona_hk is a relatively new izakaya restaurant located at a quiet corner at Tai Hang. It serves skewers, fresh sashimi, warm dishes and more. The service there was very good and had an overall relaxed vibe there. And you can probably park your car right at the doorstep of the restaurant, which is always a good thing! Address🏠: G/F, 16 Lin Fa Kung Street West, Tai Hang #foodielovebirds_taihang #foodielovebirds_japanese

Minced premier tuna Don | HKD 168 The restaurant has a nice decor but sadly, this was just average. For that price, there’s way more options out there. Address🏠: Shop 2, 1/F, Brim 28, 28 Harbour Road, Wan Chai #foodielovebirds_wanchai #foodielovebirds_japanese

Corn tempura | HKD 120 Probably the best of the night and their signature dish, this corn tempura was served with sour cream and topped with caviar. It was very crispy and extremely delicious 👍🏻 Address🏠: 6/F, LKF Tower, 33 Wyndham Street, Lan Kwai Fong, Central #foodielovebirds_central #foodielovebirds_japanese

“French” | HKD 180 “Evita” | HKD 180 Chicken wings | HKD 120 A restaurant opened not too long ago, the @silencio is a place which serves Japanese cuisine with live music. FRENCH was a nigiri with akamutsu and foie gras torchon whereas EVITA was a fresh dish featuring hokkaido scallops. The chicken wings were just evil as well! Overall, dishes were nice and beautifully presented. The downside, which it expected, would probably be overpriced. Lord Stow’s egg tarts | HKD 120 (box of 6) You don’t have to go to Macau for Lord Stow’s egg tarts any more, you can get it in Mandarin Oriental instead😋 They were freshly baked in house, and tasted just as good as those in Macau! Address🏠: G/F, Mandarin Oriental, Chater Road,Central

Wagyu bavette | HKD 198 Octopus | HKD 168 Chocolate brownie | HKD 78 The octopus was really delicious and very tender and served with a red pepper purée. The Wagyu bavette was very nice as well and probably the best main of the night. The portion was quite generous too so it is best to share it. Finishing off, the chocolate brownie was served with hazelnut and caramel sauce. We really enjoyed the brownie so we might actually come back just for that😂 Address🏠: G/F, Hilltop Plaza, 49 Hollywood, Soho, Central #foodielovebirds_central

Red prawn | HKD 148 Yellowfin tuna | HKD 138 New restaurant in town! Created by celebrity chef @shaneosbornchef, the @cornerstonehongkong is relatively small and cost with just 24 seats. However, we are very disappointed with this starter. This red prawn was served with baby artichoke, lemon thyme and olive oil. Everything sounds right yet the presentation was just wrong. The red prawns were all chopped into small pieces which affected the texture and the whole class of it. That said, the tuna was of high standard. It was served with pomelo, fennel, yuzu and ginger, giving it a fresh and delicious flavour. Address🏠: G/F, Hilltop Plaza, 49 Hollywood, Soho, Central #foodielovebirds_central

134 2

Seared tuna salad | HKD 240 Served in a dining room with high ceiling and ceiling-to-floor large windows, this lightly seared tuna steak served with anchovies, tomatoes and fresh salad was delicious with the portion on a generous side. The restaurant offers quick and relaxing food during lunch and buffet at night. Address🏠: Lobby, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, 1 Harbour Road, Wan Chai #foodielovebirds_wanchai

Flat white | HKD 48 Despite having a similar name, the @amber_coffeebrewery is not connected with the French fine-dining restaurant😂 located half way between central and Sheung Wan, this place serves good coffee in a comfortable environment. Address🏠: G/F, 142 Des Voeux Road Central, Central #foodielovebirds_central

Vanne dinner set C | HKD 1098pp Choosing the most expensive set solely because of the Wagyu sandwich, luckily it didn’t disappoint! The Wagyu steak was so tender and the bread was just toasted right. The second favorite is the salted egg shaved ice. First time trying such flavor and it was actually a great combo. (Shaved ice wasn’t the best in town but definitely decent). However, I was expecting more yakiniku (aka grilled meat), rather than some gimmick Wagyu dishes. Appetizers were all rare beef and there was even shabu shabu included as main course. Not to mention the beef for shabu shabu wasn’t up to standard at all! 😤 Probably there are better options out there for yakiniku dinner. Address🏠: 1F, Tower 535, 535 Jaffe Road, Causeway Bay #foodielovebirds_cwb #foodielovebirds_japanese
