I said this in 2018 while on the @wordswithoz podcast This has never been more true than right now. Whenever I go through something traumatic I always look for the post traumatic advantage. How can I use what has happened to me my advantage ? PLEASE PLEASE note I am not saying if you have gone through something really traumatic that you can always do this and it should be viewed as a positive. Call or text a loved one Call or text a friend Learn bodyweight exercises Learn how to cook healthy food Get a finance strategy in place Don’t stress over things you can’t control. All you can control is how you react and how you respond to a situation. We are now all challenged to change ourselves. My mum just sent myself the update from the Prime Minister I don’t watch the news and I don’t have a TV I am sorry to those who have lost their jobs and businesses But ... we are all in control of how react to what has happened We are in this together My mindset is What new habits can I adopt to cultivate a stronger mindset ? What new skills can I learn ? To improve myself and my value in the marketplace and society ? What inner work can I do and what self reflection can I do ? How can innovate with my business to adapt and overcome ? What problems can I solve to start a new business ? What books can I read ? When you focus on problems, you get more problems. When you focus on possibilities, you have more opportunities.
Repeat after me (today’s affirmation) Everything happens for a reason I have survived a lot worse things in life I have trained and prepared for challenges like this so I don’t break down. I step up, stay positive and get through it I will come out of this crisis better and help others do the same
LIFE CAN BE TOUGH We all suffer losses We all are going to have highs and lows We can all be petrified at what the future may hold We all are going to have setbacks, failures, doubts and pain THAT IS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN LIFE But ...... if you can fight for it, work for it and work through it those losses, setbacks and pain will make you better !!! You can push through You can deal with the unimaginable adversity As long as you can keep getting up everyday, showing up, doing the small positive habits and keep moving forward. You have to make yourself better by attacking each day, in spite of whatever challenges you may face. Go out there, fight on, and no matter what do not give up hope. You have to do the best you can with what you have got. Go down swinging, if you fight and work hard with everything you have got more often you won’t go down at all. Make this attitude a part of your life. Shit is tough right now, but you are tougher. Tough times don’t last. Tough people do. You have got this.
