We can’t overlook how mining impacts affect global forest ecosystems. 👆 These ecosystems are already fragile. It’s crucial we protect them – not harm them further. Companies must be transparent about how and where they mine, while governments must increase use of recycled materials and reduce use of primary raw materials. This is how we better protect people and nature. Double tap to show you #LoveTheForest! . . . . . #nature #deforestation #rainforests #forests #reforestation #ecosystems #mining
After centuries of deforestation, only about 12% of Brazil’s Atlantic Forest remains. Yet, the Atlantic Forest is home to approximately 150 million people, 7% of the world’s plant species, 5% of the world’s animal species, and supplies water for 60% of Brazil’s population. Together, with critical investments from global partners like @HP, we are working on the ground with local communities and organisations, like @reguabr, who are at the heart of conservation and restoration efforts, giving back to the forest that gives so much to them. #LoveTheForest
