A few weeks ago, I attended @1t_org_us’s annual summit in New York City at the @worldeconomicforum and @salesforce Tower for 150 leaders across sectors to learn, share and scale credible action and investment in forests to tackle the global challenges of biodiversity loss and the climate crisis. It was an incredible convening and underscored the importance of youth leadership in facilitating multi-stakeholder collaborations for protecting and restoring nature sustainability. Beyond grateful to everyone who attended to provide feedback for the creation of an @fao Youth Representatives Program - which would formalize youth engagement and leadership in crucial intergovernmental committee & forum meetings, negotiations, and statement preparations. 🇺🇳 As we continue the process of building this proposal, please feel free to reach out! Today, I joined my former @actonmagov Select Board colleagues at the @massgov State House to testify at the Joint Committee on Election Laws public hearing in support of H.711, a statewide bill that would give municipalities a local option to implement Ranked Choice Voting (RCV). There were so many youth advocates who showed up to testify and it was incredible hearing about their efforts to promote equitable civic participation by engaging thousands of people in their local communities. To say I was inspired would be an understatement - they’re leading the crucial change to actualize voting rights as fundamental human rights.
