But now that’s all behind them - they’re both thriving and can’t wait to meet their forever families!! We think they’re about 4 months old and both weight about 7lbs. We expect that they’ll both be on the smaller size full grown around 20-25lbs. Blue is in the blue collar and he’s the more bold and outgoing of the two. He’s doing great with house training and LOVES his puppy chew toys. Noodle makes you work a little harder for his love, but once you get it BOY is he loyal. He’s a sucker for kissy noises and adores his stuffed toys. We think both boys would do great with other dogs, cats and kids. Happy Birthday Hannah!!! Let’s take a minute to wish PRDF’s adoption coordinator and over all “get it done er” a Happy Birthday 🎉 🎂 Because of Hannah, hundreds of abandoned and neglected pups have found their forever homes. There really aren’t words to express what Hannah does at PRDF, but I’ll try! The time, sacrifice and love that she puts into this organization is unparalleled. She works her butt off to find the perfect home for every dog that we take in, and she does it out of nothing but love for these dogs. Many of you know it’s been a really hard past 3 weeks over where at PRDF - with two litters we took in from a Los Angeles shelter arriving to us with parvo. Hannah has gone through so much heartache and loss with these poor puppies, who did not all survive the deadly virus. Let’s please all send her birthday love and let her know how appreciated she is. She does this work solely for the dogs- but let us humans let her know how loved and appreciated she is. Hannah - we could not do this without you. We lost a third Chug this morning to Parvo. At this point.. we’re exhausted, devastated and simply heartbroken. Soda Pop was the only Chug who had a chance to go through the adoption process before getting sick. Losing Sylvie and Mindy was terrible, but to make the call to a family to let them know that their precious puppy had passed away - that was just something nobody should ever experience. Well… we thought handsome Redford found his forever home, but sadly to no fault of his own he was quickly “returned”.. This is why we very seriously ask folks to think about the commitment they’re making before they move forward with an adoption. It’s not only an extreme strain on our resources, but more importantly - it’s really tough on the pup. Thankfully his foster family was willing and able to welcome him back “home” while we search for his forever family. We’ve decided that Redford would do best with a doggy sibling - nothing brings him joy quite like a buddy to play with. He’s about 3 1/2 months old.. food motivated! Hi friends 🤍 We’ve got a super bittersweet update for you.. First, for the good news… Hank, our husky mix baby boy, has recovered from Parvo!!!! He left the vet today and we’re so so thankful to our wonderful friends at a Oceanside Vet for everything they did to save his life 🥹 This handsome hunk is looking for his forever family and we can’t wait to see what his future holds!!!! Secondly, it sadly breaks our heart to share with you that we lost a second chug to Parvo. Mindy passed away peacefully after fighting for several days. Eventually, her precious little body just couldn’t fight any longer. The past week has been an unimaginable roller coaster. To say we’re emotionally and financially depleted is an understatement. If you feel so compelled, please help us continue to fight this fight as several pups still remain in emergency care and our bills continue to rise.. We are forever grateful for your generosity 🙏🏻 THANK YOI @tabytabyy for fostering Hank… you literally said yes to an unexpected pup and welcomed him into your home within a few hours. We’re forever grateful for your love and kindness… and we know Hank is too ❤️

CHICAGO meet Morty!!! We have the chance to get this 9 week old, affectionate and hysterically adventurous kitten off the island - IF we can find a great forever home in Chicago. Morty would be arriving this Thursday. Morty has one eye that will stay “cloudy” for the rest of his life. His vision is at about 50 percent in that eye - but that doesn’t keep this active little buddy from being a curious, playful kitten. His cloudy eye is the residual of an infection he had when we rescued him 💔 Please tag and share Morty. It’s very hard to get animals off the island right now, so any opportunity that presents itself - we have to try and make it work. Teamwork saves lives!

THREE CHUGS have safely left the building!!!
