Hi dear you. This is a message from Sophie. I think the time has come to open up about a sad yet necessary decision I made: I will no longer share drawings on this page and this, is going to be my last post. I just wanna reminisce for a second and say how grateful I am to have had this art account growing up. @sophiedraws.art randomly born in 2017, to show the world an Ariana sketch I made in an old notebook. I was 16 back then, I didn’t expect more than 10 people to see my very first drawing; yet in one day thousands of likes, and comments, and kind DMs reached me, making me feel truly appreciated for the first time in my life. From that moment on, I started posting almost every day, building this account as a safe space to share my art and my love for Ariana, with people who liked the same things. I’m sure many of my followers will agree when I say that back then Ariana’s and art’s community here on instagram have been such an happy place to escape from reality over our teen years. It’s crazy to think about the amount of love and support I received from you, how I got to know some incredible artists, made some special friends, all thanks to this account. I’m so emotional rn and just let me say I’ll forever be grateful. But the truth is, we have all grown up so much since then. My art started feeling different, and even though I still adore Ariana, I needed to stop idolising and focusing my energy exclusively on her everyday. I needed to explore, to evolve, to discover what else I was able to do. I’ve watched this account diminishing and losing followers every day because of that change of direction, but still, I don’t wanna twist it into something completely different just because I don’t fit in it anymore. So here comes the end. @Sophiedraws.art won’t vanish, it’s just going to be a place where people can come to riminise some happy moments and memories of the past. What about me? Well, hopefully I’ll start a new art account all over again as my true authentic self, where I’ll share what comes from my heart as a 20y/o girl living in this world. So, goodbye to Sophie, and good luck to Sofia. I loved you all. Maybe we’ll see you again. <3
