There are creative opportunities in your own back garden (or someone else’s if you don’t have one!) My least favourite thing about my catio is going out into in the evening barefoot and squishing a slug that’s come up through the decking hunting for treat crumbs. But recently they’ve moved to the garden as the hangin bird feeder is giving them a lot more crumbs to much on! I’ve put some copper tape around the rims of the plant pots I don’t want them to eat. I don’t want to kill them as they are an important part of the ecosystem and they are cleaning up the mess left by the birds, albeit with an icky trail! The first photo is a 20-shot manual panorama with the middle camera of the @djiglobal Mavic 3 Pro; clearly, I needed to take more photos. I opened it in Photoshop BETA, enlarged the canvas A LOT and clicked "generative fill" to fill in the gaps. It's not perfect and needs a touch-up in a few places, but that is crazy. 😳

On my drive to Wales on Friday I stopped off at the services for a wee and coffee. Then quickly filmed the #SevernBridge which was right by the services. Last week, via a firmware update, @djiglobal finally added the new “tripod mode” to the Mini 3 pro that they first added to the Mavic 3 last November. It’s taken much campaigning to make this happen, nagging, then after my petition was accepted, nagging them again. It’s been exhausting, and honestly, it still is, as the fight isn’t over yet! At least we have it in the Mini 3 pro, as that was an important one to get it in, and it’s soooo good! Setting your max speed for up/ down and horizontal separately down to 1m/s is wonderful. It also works with spotlight mode, which the Mavic 3 didn’t the last time I tested it. Here’s a snippet from the video that I shot about it yesterday. Editing these take time, multiple takes, audio syncing, noise reduction, and adding various foley! It’s worth it, though! Oh and I am flying about 50-60cm from my head here to get a bit of shallow depth of field; thank god for 1m/s, eh?

I went to the @movemberuk awards last night in East London as I was nominated for what is effectively their lifetime achievement award, and bloody hell, I won! 😵‍💫 Huge thanks to all the people and companies who have contributed to my campaigns over the last 16 years to bring the total raised to £265,179, you are greatly appreciated.🙂 I accepted the award in memory of my grandfather Daniel Guilmeau, who died from prostate cancer in 2001. These are my favourite sunsets, the dark cloud contrasty ones, although it killed the afterglow somewhat. Luckily I captured that the day before as well as some extreme close ups of the sun disappearing into the ocean. Whilst the weather during the official @sonyprofilmmaking @sonyfuturefilmmakerawards part of the LA trip was pants, I at least had some decent weather for my last two days which were for my own filming. Blue skies and perfect sunny weather is boring to shoot anyway, like it’s been in England since I got back! Give me drama and reduced visibility anytime, just not grey skies and constant rain please. Our fancy hotel couldn’t cope with the rain as the rooms beneath the terrace area suddenly developed a fresh water ceiling shower at no extra charge! These frames are from the gorgeous 8K video of the @sonyalpha alpha 1 and Sony 100-400mm GM which is easily one of my favourite lenses, especially when I have the 2x extender in my pocket to pop on when needed. If my calculations are correct, it turned the lens into a 200-800mm but I will need to double check those figures! 😵‍💫

This is all those people who got nervous watching my video here yesterday. Yes, this is real. It’s from when George Lucas asked me film his Italian villa a few months after completing “Red Tails” back in 2010. Now THAT was a gig!
