Do you ever get that feeling you are being watched?! Leopards are one of the most geographically widespread big cats. The leopard's range includes sub-Saharan and northeast Africa, Central Asia, India, and China. Leopards are highly adaptable, with a diverse diet. They are nocturnal predators with the ability to hunt and carry their prey into trees. Within the tree canopy, leopards' spotted coats provide camouflage and help protect them from predators and scavengers that want to steal their prey. Leopards use the tall grasses of the savannah to stalk their prey. Leopards hunt antelope, pigs, and deer. They are comfortable in the water where they hunt for crab and fish. ⠀ They have very good eyesight and are able to see very well in the dark! ⠀ ⠀ Beautiful video by @shaazjung Follow 👉 @natures for more! Information from National Geographic #ioconservancy #natures #nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #naturelovers #earth #animals #animalsphotography #safari #africananimals #africanwildlife #africa #asianwildlife #bigcat #bigcats #bigcatsofinstagram #feline #wildcats  #leopard #leopards #indianwildlife

Nicknamed “sea parrots” – and sometimes “clowns of the sea“! – Atlantic puffins have black and white feathers and a large parrot-like beak. They are small seabirds measuring around 25cm in length. ⠀ A puffin’s beak (or bill) changes colour during the year. In winter, the beak has a dull grey colour, but in spring it blooms with an outrageous orange! It’s thought that the bright colour helps puffins assess potential mates. ⠀ When starting a puffin family, our feathered friends dig out a burrow using their sharp claws and beak, usually in a grassy bank or rocky crevice. At the back of their burrow home, they build a nest lined with feathers and grass where the female lays her egg. Both parents take it in turn to incubate the egg for the next 36-45 days before the baby “puffling” hatches! ⠀ ⠀ Beautiful video by @ttoilleecarg Follow 👉 @natures for more! Information from National Geographic ⠀ #ioconservancy #natures #nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #naturelovers #earth #animals #animalsphotography #puffin #puffins #sealife #sea #ocean #underwater #underwaterphotography #scubadiving #oceanconservation #bird #birds #birdsofinstagram #birdwatching #puffins #puffinsofinstagram #puffin #pembrokeshirepuffins #skomer

Send this to someone who might need some extra cuteness in their lives today: A little baby deer! 🩌 ⠀ A male roe deer is called a 'buck' and the female is a 'doe'. Mating occurs in July and August, but females delay implantation of the fertilised egg until January of the following year, so that the young are not born during the harsh winter months. Two or three, white-spotted kids are born in May or June. ⠀ This little deer was found in the film-makers back yard! ⠀ ⠀ Beautiful video by @reneringnes Follow 👉 @natures for more! Information from The Wildlife Trusts ⠀ #ioconservancy #natures #nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #naturelovers #earth #animals #animalsphotography #deercalf #cute #babyanimal #babyanimals #deer #norway

Wobbegongs form a group of 12 species of carpet shark, that mainly spend their time quite motionless on the seafloor. Wobbegong is an indigenous Australian word. ⠀ They often lie still on the bottom while waiting for prey to swim close to their mouths. Their body and heads are flattened in shape, and their jaws protrude forward when capturing prey. ⠀ Beautiful video by @finsandphotography Follow 👉 @natures for more! Information from Marine Bio Conservation Society #ioconservancy #natures #nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #naturelovers #earth #animals #animalsphotography #sealife #sea #ocean #underwater #underwaterphotography #scubadiving #oceanconservation #wobbegong #wobbegongshark #shark #sharkdive #wreckdiving #divingwithsharks #sharks

Bubble shells are various species of marine snails. These snails characteristically have thin, globular shells; in some species the shells are embedded in the animal’s body, like here. Many of these snails are active predators, feeding on other gastropods as well as on bivalves and polychaete worms, which they swallow whole and then crush between gizzard plates of calcareous material. ⠀ Bubble shell snails are simultaneous hermaphrodites (i.e., functional reproductive organs of both sexes occur in the same individual!) ⠀ ⠀ Beautiful video by @uw.animals Follow 👉 @natures for more! Information from Britannica #ioconservancy #natures #nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #naturelovers #earth #animals #animalsphotography #sealife #sea #ocean #underwater #underwaterphotography #scubadiving #oceanconservation #seaslug #marinesnail #bubblesnails #tulamben #amed #indonesia #bali

The beautiful mandarin duck was introduced to the UK (where this was filmed) from the Far East, where it can still be found in China, Japan, Korea and parts of Russia. ⠀ The mandarin duck nests in holes in trees, sometimes high up and a long way from the water. Shortly after the ducklings hatch, the female flies down and tries to coax the young to jump from the nest. Once they have left the tree and made their way back to water, the father will return to the family and help to protect the ducklings. ⠀ Beautiful video by @lawrencechatton Follow 👉 @natures for more! ⠀ Information from The Wildlife Trusts ⠀ #ioconservancy #natures #nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #naturelovers #earth #animals #animalsphotography #bird #birds #birdsofinstagram #birdwatching #mandarinduck #aixgalericulata

The film maker shot this singing wren in London - this shows you have to go to far flung places to experience the natural world. Wrens are known for being tiny  little songsters with a powerful song to more than make up for their diminutive size! ⠀ For such a small bird the wren has an astonishingly loud song. In fact, per unit weight, it sings at ten times the power of a crowing cockerel! ⠀ Wrens eat spiders and insects which they find while hopping and dashing along the ground and probing in crevices with their long thin bill. Their scientific name, Troglodytes, means “cave dweller” in reference to this behaviour or to their delicately constructed nests which have only a small opening. ⠀ Beautiful video by @lawrencechatton Follow 👉 @natures for more! Information from Scottish Wildlife Trust ⠀ #ioconservancy #natures #nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #naturelovers #earth #animals #animalsphotography #bird #birds #birdsofinstagram #birdwatching #london #wren #wrens #birdsong

When one of the largest animals in the ocean takes a nap, it can look pretty weird. Research suggests that 52% of the world’s turtles have eaten plastic waste. The reasons are simple: a floating plastic bag can look like a lot of jellyfish, algae, or other species that make up a large component of the sea turtles’ diets. ⠀ All sea turtle species are at risk from plastic. ⠀ The carnivorous loggerhead and mainly plant-eating green turtle both were shown to be consuming plastic in alarming quantities, according to a study from the University of Tokyo. ⠀ In fact, loggerheads ate plastic 17% of the time they encountered it, likely mistaking it for jellyfish. This figure rocketed to 62% for green turtles probably on the hunt for algae. ⠀ Happily, this green turtle is safely eating a moon jellyfish! Jellyfish are 90% water, so they probably have to eat a lot. ⠀ ⠀ Beautiful video by @underwater_images Follow 👉 @natures for more! Information from WWF #ioconservancy #natures #nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #naturelovers #earth #animals #animalsphotography #sealife #sea #ocean #underwater #underwaterphotography #scubadiving #oceanconservation #jellyfish #turtle #turtles #greenturtle #reptile

Over 150 species of chameleons exist, ranging from the size of your thumbnail to that of a house cat. Some species of chameleon (such as the tiger chameleon) are endangered, but others (like the Drakensberg dwarf chameleon) are not. No matter their differences, all chameleons have a prize pair of eyes. Their peepers can move in two different directions at once, giving the lizards a panoramic view of their surroundings. ⠀ It is also suggested that the strange jerky movements they make aids in camouflage, mimicking foliage in the wind. ⠀ Awesome video by @nickkleer Follow 👉 @natures for more! Information from National Geographic #ioconservancy #natures #nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #naturelovers #earth #animals #animalsphotography #lizard #lizards #lizardsofinstagram #safari #africananimals #africanwildlife #africa #asianwildlife  #chameleon

Would you like to experience a shark encounter? ⠀ Great white sharks have serrated bladelike teeth with the upper jaw containing a row of 23-28 teeth and their lower jaw 20-26 teeth. These triangular teeth can reach up to 6.6 inches in height. ⠀ Adult great white sharks grow to a maximum size of approximately 20 feet in length, weigh up to 6,600 pounds, and are estimated to live for 30 years. ⠀ Great whites play a special role in the ocean as a top predator by keeping prey populations such as elephant seals and sea lions in balance. The presence of great white sharks ultimately increases species stability and the diversity of the ocean. ⠀ Beautiful video by @joeromeiro333 Follow 👉 @natures for more! Information from Oceana #ioconservancy #natures #nature #wildlife #wildlifephotography #naturephotography #amazinganimals #naturelovers #earth #animals #animalsphotography #sealife #sea #ocean #underwater #underwaterphotography #scubadiving #oceanconservation #shark #sharks #greatwhite #greatwhiteshark
