About yesterday… 👙☀️🩱👒💦 After I have had today to reflect I can’t truly put into words everything I feel about yesterday’s #PENNGals pool party co-hosted by @penningtons & @aliciamccarvell in celebration of #NationalBikiniDay. It was a day I will never forget for so many reasons but the pure sense of joy & community I felt I think is most important. The emotions have been overwhelming but the gratitude I feel has my heart full ❤️. To all the amazing women I hadn’t seen in awhile and the new ones I had the chance to meet (yeah to new friends!) thank you for your kindness and acceptance. Hi everyone! 😘😘 Yes I am alive lol and thank you for all your kind messages. I had a really difficult start to the year and I am trying to give myself a new sense of normal here. I miss you guys SO much. 💜💜 My Mom said something to me recently that had a profound effect on me. She told me that I like to set big goals and then my perfectionism sets in and when I can’t do it I get frustrated and don’t do things because honestly nowadays I get really overwhelmed and anxious. So now I am trying to focus on doing small things. Last week’s bday dinner with Mom & putting on a cute outfit & makeup was a win. I felt cute & we had fun. I also went for comfort over style with my fuzzy sparkly glitter crocs. Before I would feel the need to wear a cute shoe but now managing my pain is more important. I haven’t been in front of the camera since our Xmas photos and it felt good. On Mon Dec 19th, 2022 we lost my Oma at the age of 95. She’s reunited with the love of her life & partner of 69 yrs, my Opa, Herbert in heaven. I have struggled all week with what to say. I am at peace with her passing because I know it’s what she wanted and she got to stay at home till the end thanks to my Dad, my stepmom Terri & my cousin Edith. She lived a long wonderful life & at 95 she got to go out on her own terms. You can’t really ask for more than that. At the same time I am sad. Oma was my last living biological grandparent. And at 47 I know I am beyond blessed to have had her for longer than many people have their parents, never mind their grandparents. She was also my birthday twin, well almost since we’re one day apart. I was born in the morning and she would often joke that I didn’t want to share my birthday with her so I was stubborn and waited lol. For me it’s somewhat like losing a parent. She was such a big part of my life. We shared so many memories & milestones. She saw me grow up as her first grandchild to the woman I am now. One of the last conversations I had with her she reminded me that I may be older but I will always be her first🥰 Oma was smart, funny, loving, kind, generous and caring. She loved her family with all her might. She loved a good joke (she had to keep up with Opa after all!) and her laugh was infectious. She was also a no nonsense woman - she wasn’t afraid to tell it like it was and if she had an opinion you were sure to hear about it. She supported my hopes and dreams no matter what. I remember when I started my blog & modelling she was confused at first, especially with the social media part but she followed my Mustangsallytwo Facebook page religiously, liking all of my posts & photos & even wrote some comments. And let me tell you when we talked on the phone she was not shy with her opinions on my fashion choices whether it was good or bad! She might not have understood it but she knew it made me happy and that was enough for her. Oma you will be missed but your memory lives on in us. We’ll make sure your great grandchildren know all about you & Opa. Be sure to say hello to us from heaven ❤️.
