Catch me live tomorrow on @bbcasiannetwork at 11am 🙊❤️ we’re going to be talking all about social media, mental health and growing up in the desi community! I can’t wait 🙌🏽☺️😁 📸 @touchpixs
Bas Kar 👋🏽 Exactly how I feel when issues of mental health are constantly brushed under the rug in South Asian communities. There’s no doubt that mental health has been a taboo topic for years in the Desi culture, with many people still not understanding it or believing conditions such a depression and anxiety are a result of being ungrateful. It is so important to speak up about it as so many people go about their lives feeling completely alone. When we shed light on such issues and support our one another we allow ourselves to grow as a community. Being able to speak out about mental health, body shaming and growing up in the desi community is something I’m proud to have been able to do and hopefully continue to do in the very near future ❤️ I can’t wait to share some news with you guys tomorrow on what’s to come (some of you already know as I can’t keep my mouth shut 😂) #supportyourlocalbrowngang 📸 &👕 @ameerphotographyuk
My fave shoot ever ✨ 📸 @ameerphotographyuk
Not sure if you’ve heard but I was recently featured on @asianlifemag!!! 🙀🙌🏽❤️ I couldn’t be more proud, the article discusses the challenges of growing up in the South Asian community and dealing with mental health and body shaming. Both topics that I’m extremely passionate about raising awareness around. I really hope we can all work towards changing attitudes on mental health and body image and that this article is able to help anyone out there who may need to know they aren’t alone ❤️ You can grab a copy in Asda, Tesco, Morrison’s and most newsagents in the northwest! P.s. I walked into my local Asda the other day and they were all gone!!!! Thanks to everyone who got a copy and read it 🥰 it means the world to me.
Hello there instagram (again) It’s been ages since I’ve posted on here and even longer since I’ve posted on YouTube. Taking a LONG break from social media is probably the most refreshing thing ever! Too much of anything can become bad for you and it’s so easy to let social media consume your life. Even though I believe for the most part social media is an amazing tool, it can become extremely draining and have serious effects on your mental health. It’s important to always look after yourself and take a break ❤️ 📸 @ameerphotographyuk
