+ I’ll never forget my first slow season, the summer was creeping up and my books weren’t booked like they normally would be. Clients were getting their hair braided and styles to last thru the summer. At that time, I was only servicing silk presses and hair extensions. So you know the girls were putting their tresses away. But after that slow summer, I said something has got to give and immediately took a curly cut class and added it to my services so fast. By just adding that service, my slow summers weren’t slow anymore, increased in 💰 and I was able to build a strong clientele base of textured hair clients. Now I only offer silk presses|blow outs, curly cuts and hair care services. No color, no more hair extensions. I only lean into spaces that feel good. + I don’t hop on the scale much but I check in here and there. I honestly avoided it bc my clothes were getting looser and that’s one of the ways I could tell my body was changing. But seeing the number is a reference, not my primary focus but also pushed me to want to do better and really set a goal. I’m tall and family genes, we are just bottom thick lol. [and I am more than ok with that] My goal now is 190. I was doing more walks and OT Classes and said it’s time to get back. I could feel myself getting relaxed. So I normally go to the gym around 6:30-7am but I went at 10am and I will never do that again. so many ppl. all the weights were taken. I made it work with what was available 😩 and this is why I love @orangetheory bc I am able to hop in a class and do at-home workouts and monitor myself.
