Quarterfinals 2023 in the books. I had lots of fun with the workouts and I’m happy with the results! Put 275 up when I wasn’t sure if I could and finished top 5800 worldwide. Huge thank you to @rachmack15 for judging! @sarshhh also crushed the workouts and I’m glad we could suffer through them together! But I am super happy with this result and I will let myself get a little competitive for quarters. I’ve been doing CrossFit for about 13 years now. Over that time, my focus and goals have changed a lot. I was once competitive and only focused on my numbers in the gym improving. I have had times where my own fitness has fallen out of focus and my coaching of others has taken priority. I have had times where life has made it hard to focus on my goals in the gym and that has made me feel guilty. Today, I have what I feel is the most balanced approach yet (for myself.) I am training consistently 4-5x a week, usually for 1 hour. My numbers are not the best they have ever been, but instead of viewing that as a negative, I see it as a positive. I am able to do all the things I want with my kids, use the gym to improve my mental and physical health, I’m still way more fit than the average person and can even throw down on occasion. My point of this rant? CrossFit works, you just have to find how it works best for you. Today I did Diane in 4:00. Not a PR. Still sucked. #crossfit @crossfit @crossfittraining

After a rough few days, our little Franklin is steadily getting better! The fever seems to be gone and many of the scary scenarios have been ruled out. It looks like we will be in the hospital for a few more days, but that’s fine with us as long as we have our healthy boy.
