As much as I love days spent adventuring, nothing makes the day sweeter than ending it on a high note - like taking in some incredible views while enjoying a good glass of wine. This dangerously-good Chardonnay by @naturalselectionwine has notes of tropical fruit, apple, citrus and peach. Waiting for retirement to really see the world has never made any sense at all to me. π€·ββοΈβοΈ This entire notion assumes that we have control over time - which we absolutely do not. The number of our days on earth are unknown, and we arenβt always guaranteed tomorrow. Iβd rather experience this worldβs adventures while my body is still feeling its best and able to do all the things I want to do. ποΈπ₯Ύ This mindset often doesnβt make sense to earlier generations, but the truth is that the world (and what is possible) is changing at a rapid pace. It is entirely possible to maintain a career while seeing more of the world, save money while still experiencing different destinations, travel with children together as a family, etc. If this resonates with you but you donβt know how to get started, my best advice is to focus on making travel a priority - choose some unnecessary extras in life to cut out, such as booze, expensive dinners out, and excessive shopping for material things. Instead, put that money in your βexperiences > thingsβ fund. Itβs amazing how much money can slip through the cracks when weβre not prioritizing what we really want in life. πΈ Next, learn about budget travel, how to find travel deals, travel hacking tips, using points from your credit cards, etc. There are so many ways to save money when booking travel. βοΈ π° Lastly, if youβre not in love with your job (or the amount of vacation time it allows), considering exploring remote work options that provide location independence. My favourite way to travel is slowly - heading to a country for an extended amount of time, really immersing myself in the culture, getting to know the locals etc. This style of travel might not be possible (or ideal) for everyone, but having a remote job that you love will hopefully allow you the freedom to travel at your own pace while still paying your bills and saving for the future. Either way, you do you - our time on earth is fleeting, and you owe it to yourself to turn it into something thatβs beautiful to you. β¨ Travel Inspiration | Travel Tips | Millennials | Remote Work | Digital Nomad | Traveller | St Lucia | Island | Beach | Caribbean

We each have two livesβ¦the second begins when we realize we only have one. βοΈ π β¨ Is this you? Or someone you know? πββοΈ Iβm forever grateful to be able to travel the amount that I do because my career is location-independent (meaning I can work remotely from anywhere). π₯οΈ π· βοΈ However, these are some other ways you can travel more without having a remote job: βοΈ Prioritize Travel: Make travel a priority in your life and allocate a portion of your income to make your travel dreams come true. Sometimes itβs as simple as cutting out things such as booze or excessive shopping for an extended period of time. ποΈ Explore Local Destinations: Weekend trips close to home can be rewarding, too! π± Utilize Travel Apps: Leverage technology such as Skyscanner, Hopper or Priceline to find the best travel deals. ποΈ Be Flexible with Dates: Save money by being open to flying mid-week, red eyes or during off-peak times. π Sign Up for Fare Alerts: Get notifications when flight prices drop or a travel promotion becomes available in your area (I love YYCDeals for Calgary promotions) π Embrace Off-Peak Seasons: Travel during shoulder seasons for better prices and fewer crowds. β³ Plan Short Getaways: Make the most of your long weekends and stat holidays. ποΈ Use Reward Points: Use credit card points or frequent flyer miles to offset various travel costs. π» Negotiate Remote Work Opportunities: Explore the possibility of any remote work options at your current job, or look for companies hiring for remote roles if youβre serious about making location-independence a thing in your career.
