Our clothing compost at @rosendalstradgard is a way of continuously testing the purity of our garments made with natural fibers. So what exactly does a good compost need? A good compost has a healthy balance of carbon and nitrogen, creating a healthy environment for life to start. Nitrogen comes from so-called 'green material' such as coffee grounds, fruit peels and grass clippings. Carbon comes from what we call 'brown material' such as dead leaves, twigs or branches. Or Houdini wool base layers! ⠀ ⠀ We're very proud of our collaboration with Rosendals Gardens: All our garments in natural fibers can be composted, as long as you cut away the details like zippers, cords etc. The process usually takes 6-12 months. That being said, you can always return your worn out Houdini garments to us. The textiles can often be repurposed before they are ready to go back to the soil. #houdinisportswear #rosendalstradgard #composting #circulardesign⠀

We're back with our final prompt for the Creative Adventure Challenge with @annabrones! Today, we're going big on the tiny things.⠀ ⠀ As a culture, we are usually consumed with living big. We mark our existence by big successes and milestones. We are sold big houses, big cars, big meals. We seek out big adventures, big experiences. ⠀ ⠀ But what about all the small things? The tiny bits of the everyday that lay the groundwork for our lives?⠀ ⠀ Today is all about the small and the tiny. The challenge is to make small art. ⠀ ⠀ There are two ways in which you can do this prompt:⠀ ⠀ 1. Make the great outdoors in the smallest version possible: Draw something from your local surroundings as small as you can!⠀ ⠀ 2. Or, you can find something small and investigate it, like a small patch of grass, or the detail of tree bark up close. ⠀ ⠀ Thanks to @annabrones for sharing some of her #creativefuelchallenge prompts with us for our Creative Adventure Challenge and thanks to all of you for joining us these past weeks! Share what you make with us by using the hashtag #CreateAdventureAnywhere⠀ ⠀ #houdinisportswear #createadventure⠀

Part of our mission to have a 100% circular collection by 2022, fully eliminating the concept of waste. All our base layers are made with 100% natural materials: In their original state, these materials are completely biodegradable. This is why we keep our garments as pure as possible, without any unnecessary additions. Not blending in any synthetics results in a high performance, fully circular garment. ⠀ ⠀ When it comes to our natural garments, we use two different fibers: Merino wool and Tencel Lyocell. Wool regulates the temperature after your body and is therefore perfect for different activities, from climbing or hiking in the summer to skiing in the winter. Our wool collection consists of everything from base layers to mountaineering shells. All our wool is guaranteed mulesing free. ⠀ ⠀ Tencel is used is a sleek and strong fiber made from cellulose, a natural compound that build up plants and trees. Tencel provides a cool feeling against the skin and is highly breathable. It can also take up moisture very well. And what's even better: It is produced in a very sustainable way, using fast growing FSC certified trees. The chemicals and water used in the production can be reused and circle back to a rate of over 99%. ⠀ ⠀ This is how we #closetheloop #circulardesign #houdinisportswear #houdinimenu #regenerativebusiness

When thinking about agriculture, most of us will think about food. But clothing made from natural fibers such as wool and Tencel, is in fact just as much an agricultural product as the veggies on your plate. All our base layers are made with 100% natural materials: In their original state, these materials are fully compostable. So we got curious: Could we turn our worn-out garments into a delicious meal? Turns out, the answer is yes.⠀ ⠀ It is a part of our mission to have a 100% circular collection, fully eliminating the concept of waste. With the Houdini Menu project in 2016, we took a big step in visualising what that could look like: First, we let our wool base layers go through a normal garden composting process. The soil was then used to grow vegetables that ended up on the plates of guests at a gourmet restaurant, giving them a taste of the future of circular design.⠀ Up until this day, we're collaborating with @rosendalstradgard to test the purity of all our garments made with natural fibers. We're back with another Creative Adventure Challenge! Hosted by @annabrones to help you create adventure anywhere. Swipe for this week's challenge or keep on reading below👇Share what you make with us by using the hashtag #CreateAdventureAnywhere⠀ ⠀ Do you like to travel and explore? So do we. Which is why we love postcards. They capture the enthusiasm about a place.⠀ ⠀ When we're stuck at home, it's hard to feel any sense of enthusiasm about the everyday, but today's challenge is to do that. You're going to make a travel postcard by turning wherever you are into an exotic destination. ⠀ ⠀ Think about a stereotypical vintage travel postcard. They feature the name of the place, often a bold salutation (ie "greetings from...") and some iconic imagery that captures the place. ⠀ ⠀ Apply that same strategy to wherever you are and make your own postcard. What's notable, what makes it special? What are the magical things that you have on offer?⠀ ⠀ Some ideas to get you going:⠀ ⠀ Greetings from my house!⠀ Greetings from my backyard!⠀ Greetings from my favorite park!⠀ Greetings from my kitchen table!⠀ ⠀ We can’t wait to see what you come up with! ⠀ ⠀ Thanks to @annabrones for sharing some of her #creativefuelchallenge prompts with us for our Creative Adventure Challenge! ⠀ ⠀ #houdinisportswear #makeart #creativeadventure⠀
