Hi friends 👋 It’s been a minute since I’ve shown my face here, and much has changed since I have. This space can be challenging (for me) to embrace during times of transition, and the past year has certainly been that. We’re reaching that time of year, though, when we have so much going on in the studio, and I miss sharing it all. Since I know it’s been a min, and there might be some new followers, let’s get re-acquainted. ✨ My name is Courtney. I’m the owner and creative director (worth mentioning I originally misspelled this as “creative dictator” and that made me laugh) of Honeycomb Studio. ✨ 10 years ago (!), I quit my career in museum fundraising to start a ceramics studio, which I had no business doing. ✨ I renovated a rat/squirrel infested detached garage in my backyard by myself, which I had no business doing (seeing a trend here??) and turned it into a 250 sq ft, light filled ceramics studio. This is where Honeycomb Studio was born. ✨ I live in Atlanta with my partner of 20 years (!) and my 3 young kids - Leo, who turns 6 tomorrow, Lillian, 4.5, and Beckett (Kit), almost 1.5. I am very tired most of the time. ✨ My studio music preferences run strongly to low key angry lady vocals - Lana Del Ray, Fiona Apple, Stevie Nicks, Florence and the Machine - but there’s always room for Brandon Flowers in my studio. I like to listen to trap music and musicals when creating new designs. Can’t explain that one. ✨ The important stuff: I’m a Leo ☀️, Gemini 🌙, Cancer ⬆️. An ENTP and enneagram 7. ✨ I have 11k unread email notifications on my phone, and it doesn’t bother me at all. What should I know about you?

Proof of creative life. I’ve been letting family logistics and mental health take the wheel lately (and for the first time in my professional/creative life), and it’s been feeling good. I’m still here working at a slower pace, mostly with my eye on offering more one of a kind artist pieces for the holidays, but I may have something fun to offer later this month too. Stay tuned… 👀
