Elk Horn, Montana. Sept 16th 2023. Took this shot of a half standing building. Next shot is myself, my son Matthew Cooper and grandson Ethan Dunnery in front of it. It was gorgeous weather and a perfect day to visit. First time I was here was 1953 when I was 16. I will repost those pictures again soon.
T-702411-H – Climber on cornice, Mt. Robson 1961 PHOTO TIP: This is one of the most artistic climbing shots I have in my collection. All the placements of the elements seemed perfect to me at the time I took the picture, and remain so to this day. This photo says ”The right time at the right place”. HACE 70 AÑOS HOY 70 years ago today T-904801 – Climbing with Mt Rainier Climbing Guide Service, 8-12-1953, WA PHOTO COMMENT: This was the first climbing photo I ever took. I’m not sure that a summit photo was captured as well (we did reach the summit). If it was, I have either lost it, or it is lost in the tens of thousands of photos I have in my files. 12 Years ago today: Photo of me (and my beer) with medals won by the beer, taken in Squamish last month. Actually Baldwin & Cooper Best Bitter. Great beer, good for what "ales" you!
70 YEARS AGO TODAY. HACE 70 AÑOS HOY T-104800 – Ed Cooper on 1st climb ever, Pinnacle Peak, Mt. Rainier Nat. Park, 8-4-1953 PHOTO COMMENT: It is really amazing that this first mountain photo (of me) survived all the moves I made in my turbulent teen years and beyond. It was in a box that my mother had saved for me, and could easily have been thrown away. For online gallery, go to: http://3-ed-cooper.artistwebsites.com/
Say hello to little Oliver! Our first GREAT Grandchild and today is the very first day we met him. Debby and I never expected to make it this far! What a blessing!
Today is Debby and my 54th wedding anniversary. Happy anniversary to my love Debby Cooper!
M-08026 – Bighorn sheep, Mt. Wilbur, Glacier National Park, MT 1989 PHOTO COMMENT: I have the greatest admiration for these bighorn sheep. They stay out year around. The night before this the temperature was about minus 15 degrees F, and it is more or less that temperature for 3 months out of the year. I was fortunate to get my vehicle all the way to the Many Glacier Area, which is usually not open in the winter.
