When planning this case, we discussed at length the pros and cons of an implant, compared with the bonded bridge. Some of the steps I take in a resin bonding case. These cases are completed freehand, and usually take about 2.5 hours of layering, polishing, adjusting, shinin - and really making sure it functions well with the bite. I usually book another appointment for review and further polishing and adjusting, as I think it is important that the patient has them for a few weeks and trials them to know what adjustments are required. This beautiful woman is in her 60s, and wanted to finally do something about her smile. After completing Invisalign to improve an underbite and close spaces, we are now at the final Resin bonding stage. Lowers are next to be bonded. Resin bonding is a procedure where we add a material called ‘composite resin’ to the teeth to improve imperfections ,chipping and spacing. This video is the initial placement. There will be another appointment for further polishing and shining to bring the lustre of the composite resin up to a high shine. How do we replace missing teeth with dental implants? This smile makeover included 8 Porcelain Veneers and 3 dental implants. Dental implants are titanium screws, placed in the missing sites. In this case, the implants were placed 3 months ago, and have since osseo-integrated. This means they have connected with the bone. The final implant crown is then connected via a central screw, and the access chamber sealed.
