When an abandoned high school in Homestead, Pennsylvania, was listed for sale in 2019, Jesse Wig saw an opportunity. The sellers were asking for just $100,000. The 34-year-old real estate agent bought the school, and together with 35-year-old real estate investor Adam Colucci and 41-year-old developer and multifamily property manager Dan Spanovich, the decision was made to convert the high school classrooms into apartments. After purchasing the school in May 2019, construction on the building started at the beginning of 2020 and wrapped in October 2021. Leasing started in October 2021, and after just six months, the building reached 100% occupancy. The finished product boasts 27 one-bedroom apartments and four two-bedroom apartments. Would you live in an apartment converted from a high school classroom? Only 7% of American households earn $250,000 or more. For those high-income earners, however, certain cities will offer them the most bang for their buck — and others will offer far less. The real purchasing power of a $250,000 salary depends on a city’s overall economy, taxes and cost of living. A recent report by SmartAsset investigated where high earners lose the most to taxes and cost of living. The study compares the after-tax income in 76 of the largest U.S. cities and adjusts the figures for the cost of living. See how much a $250,000 salary is really worth in each of these cities at the link in bio. Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are “absolutely dead serious” about trading blows in the Octagon, and fans will have to pay up if they want to watch. UFC president Dana White on Thursday told TMZ Sports that he spoke with both billionaires about their social media beef this week, which saw Zuckerberg accept a “cage match” challenge issued by Musk on Twitter. “This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world, bigger than anything that’s ever been done,” he said. “It would break all pay-per-view records.” A fight between Musk and Zuckerberg — the No. 1 and No. 10 richest men on earth with a combined net worth of $340 billion — would easily set a new record, White said. Will you watch Musk and Zuckerberg’s “cage match?” Link in bio for more details on White’s comments. U.S. President Joe Biden dismissed concerns about his comment referring to Chinese leader Xi Jinping as a “dictator,” saying his remarks did not undermine diplomatic efforts to mend fragile ties between the two countries. Biden labeled President Xi a dictator during a campaign fundraiser in California on Tuesday, just one day after Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrapped up his first official visit to Beijing. Within hours of Biden’s remarks, China shot back with a sharp response, calling the comment “utterly absurd and irresponsible” and a “provocation.” The Chinese Embassy in the United States reiterated Beijing’s position on Thursday. More details on Biden’s comments at the link in bio.

Warren Buffett has made another annual donation to five foundations, boosting his total charitable giving to more than $50 billion — significantly higher than his entire net worth in 2006 when he first scheduled the grants. The 92-year-old legendary investor said Thursday he has converted over 9,000 Berkshire A shares into B shares in order to donate 13.7 million B shares to five foundations. As of 1:30 p.m. ET, the B shares were worth about $336 apiece. The “Oracle of Omaha” said the schedule for annual grants was made on June 26, 2006, when he owned $43 billion of Berkshire A shares, which represented more than 98% of his net worth.
