The lights of New York City’s southern tip sparkle in the late sunset. There were about 20 photographers at this spot, and I arrived after about 10 of them. Around Ireland there are a few rocks and sea stacks named after old women. The Cailleach Bhéarra in West Cork and the Bean an Uaill on Skellig Michael (as seen in The Last Jedi) are two prominent examples. This stack just up the coast from The Giant’s Causeway is reminiscent of both the others- I wonder does anyone know if it too has a name? . The working day starts early on the Mekong. Central to the landscape here is the relationship that people have with the river. No photograph would be complete without a fisherman, a farmer, or even those dredging for sand somewhere in the frame. We had a stunning sunrise on this morning and it was really amazing to watch how everyone touched or interacted with the river on their way to work, school, or even to the floating markets.
