This special little book tends to be a favorite among of all of my creative projects, I think it’s because it’s a simple message that I learned over the years and wanted to share with my boys and hopefully other children around the world. If you’re looking to grab one, take 20% off using the code SANTASSTUDIO20 at the link in my bio December 18th is the last day to ship if you’d like to have it before Christmas !

Truth be told I’ve never lived anywhere that properly snows or even has the potential for a white Christmas. This year has been all about “first” and embracing a new way of seeing the world for me and the family. Making some holiday memories in Kerlingarfjoll were probably the highlight of December for me so far. The boys sled until near midnight, we soaked in the hotspring, ate the endless waffle bar at @kerlingarfjoll.highlandbase and pretty much just played in the best playground on the planet. @brea_face

Every year around this time, I reflect on my favorite moments & images from the year… expeditions or shoots that stand out, memories that I’m grateful for. So here’s the first from some meaningful shots from 2023 I’ll share in the coming weeks. Captured during a @natgeo assignment, the seemingly desolate mountains surrounding Carrizo Plains & the New Cuyama valley actually hold a gold mine of stunning, delicate wildflowers, activated by heavy rainfall and best seen from a birds eye view... not a common perspective but one that reflects a lesson I keep learning from nature time and time again. Step outside of the box, of your comfort zone to see a different angle of the outdoors and you'll often find yourself surprised and in awe of beauty in its raw form. @shotsfromabove shown in the Lightweight Aerial Trike

It was rivers like these that inspired over a decade of flights to capture them and eventually an expedition to immerse myself in their lines with only an inflatable raft and bike.. My film The Forgotten Coast documenting this expedition is coming to Seattle on December 18th, 7pm, at the @fjallravenofficial store downtown. Can’t wait to start sharing this film in the US along with a special slideshow presentation afterwards. Seating is limited, grab tickets at the link in my bio

First off.. Thank you to all those that came out & supported The KOFI gallery in Reykjavik over the last 6 months. It has truly been one of the most beautiful experiences for me personally to create something within a community that I truly love and appreciate. From the beginning it was an experiment and a pop-up gallery - we’ve decided that December 31 will be our last open day. I wanna thank @66north , @braudogco , @benjaminhardman and @hafnartorg for the amazing support and partnership on this space. As well as all the artists who put their work on display at our curated events. I love you and I’m grateful to call y’all friends. Most of all - thanks to the visitors that stopped by and caught a glimpse of my vision for the way I see the world. If you are coming to Iceland this month, the @ellithor BOLTATLAND exhibition will be up until this weekend and we plan to have a little Christmas party on Dec 15th with live music & food. See you down the road.

Sometimes the world feels small and easily accessible with today’s technology and travel available with the touch of screen... until you step into vast peaks like the Chilean Andes, a place that will certainly make you feel small and the earth quite expansive. Just a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to make may way down to Rio Palena after an invitation from @elevenexperience to ski in these beautiful mountains and explore the area.. This view particularly caught my eye on golden hour descent... showing a little window into the vast nature of the range that spans the entire South American continent.

The South Eastern edge of the Myrdasjokull glacier has always captured my imagination. Made famous by the many films shot here (Star Wars included) it has always felt a bit surreal. I once crossed this glacier on my fatbike riding down a glacial tongue ending near the sea. It still moves me to emotion now when I see it.

The “moment” … and the moment just before. I love trying to tell a story within a series of photos. Sometimes it breaks down the mystery of “how the shot came to be” but it gives me the ability to shoot like I used to for magazines. That editorial focus was always about creating a variety of images from portraits to action to the approach etc etc. It’s more challenging these days to feel the need to show it all in ONE shot. This is from early in the summer, way above the famous Skogafoss waterfall. With the legend @siggiworld running safety and @mirto_diego @anupicepal in the water.

The kid inside me never imagined aerial photography would take me to the tip of South America, let alone flying in the late Doug Tompkins Husky with the legendary pilot @aeroalerce . This was a place I dreamt about in my youth pouring over old adventure films and magazines of expeditions to the region… even the name “Patagonia” elicits some deep rooted mystery… This trip I was as on assignment for @elevenexperience Rio Palena lodge - I’m just now processing the images and the experience. Once in a lifetime I must say
